Tencent Big Budget Period C-drama Going to Ride the Winds in Discussions with Tian Xi Wei or Yu Shu Xin for Female Lead — 10 Comments

  1. Tian xi Wei would be my pick that is if they are not already predisposed in other roles but she really showed up in her last drama that I can see her in a red outfit kicking but if necessary. Yu Shu xin has yet to showcase a but kicking roll despite her last serious role with zhang Ling he a few years back. I just can’t picture ysx in such a role but we shall see.

  2. I couldn’t care less about anything to do with YSX. I just don’t think she should take any leading role. Let’s be honest. YSX is no oil painting lol, let alone her acting is cringe worthy with that unbearable squeaking voice. Competing with TXW? What a joke!!!! I got the impression that even YSX is not up to par with most of the leading ladies in C-ent, she’s somehow often in a spotlight to vying for a project with others. Interesting!

  3. I enjoyed TXW in Pursuit of Jade and New Life Begins, but was not impressed with Guardians of the Dafeng. Esther’s natural high pitched voice, is so distinctive it can make it a problem as it starts to define the character – and with the same voice, the characters start to merge. But in My Journey to You, she was almost unrecognisable.

  4. I dont mind Esther. I actually really liked her in My Journey to You but gotta say I hope TXW gets the role. I loved her in POJ so honestly I think she can pull off this role. May the best girl win lol.

  5. I’ve liked TXW before Pursuit of Jade and while I’m glad that people are noticing how talented she is, I’m always worried about her being subject to crazy fan behavior.

And I wonder who decides and announces that the script is strong at this stage. Scripts can be reworked depending on investor preferences and depending on who gets to be male lead.

  6. Interesting choices! I hope it stays a female centric production. I think TXW is a bit more versatile but Esther has shown she can act in powerful roles too.
