Period Romance and Intrigue C-drama Liang Chen Mei Jing with Ren Min and Ci Sha Reportedly to Air Drop in Late April/Early May 2026
With March 2026 over and the only drama to do well being Pursuit of Jade, with Love Beyond the Grave, Veil of Shadows, and Rebirth in varying stages of meh to flop, April is now midway done and there feels like a lull just waiting for a grippy drama to capture the latent attention. That could fall to Liang Chen Mei Jin 良陈美锦, which doesn’t have a English title yet but will surely get one soon if the airing rumors are true and the drama is slated to air drop in the next few weeks. It could be as early as late April or into early May, but the period drama rife with intrigue, plotting, and of course romance and starring Ren Min and Ci Sha, has that unknown factor with low expectation due to non buzzy leads but solid chance of being good because said leads can actually act. Flying under the radar means nothing in C-ent as a good drama can quickly and easily earn buzz and break out. Here’s to hoping April ends with the arrival of a good C-drama whether this or another.
Wrap trailer for Liang Chen Mei Jin:

I just saw a actor I like in the drama. Gala Zhang may be a side character but he will do well in any roles he is given. This story looks interesting. Looking forward to this.
Ren Min voice is unbearable..Her voice is painful like Esther. I couldn’t watch her drama. For people sake, they should think about dubbing her.
I had a similar thought in that if they don’t dub her I can’t watch it. But for me it is less about the sound of her voice then about her line delivery. It sounds like she’s just reading straight from the script. No emotions, inflections or anything.
She goes from flop to flop and is the direct cause of most of them. But her backside is insane so if she doesn’t want to be dubbed, she won’t be dubbed.
This is going to flop so badly lol
I only know them from “The Rise on Ning”, which I liked a lot. I might give this a look.
LOL. Finally some folks noted her voice. I’m among those who are not a fan of her voice and lines. She was serviceable in The Long Promises. Although I applauded her hard work for that drama with Xiao Zhan, her acting range is limited. She is always on with high-octane acting, giving me a very intense presence. But her acting style lacks nuance, like a female version of Zhang Wang Yi. No offense to ZWY’s fans. I do not like or dislike either ZWY or Ren Min. As a matter of fact, I liked ZWY’s performance the best among all the three MLs in Lost You Forever. I just don’t consider ZWY and RM versatile actors.
On a side note, rumor had it that RM was cast for TLP while Tian Xiwei also competed for the FL at that time. Oh what a big loss to Xiao Zhan!!!!! lol. The casting for the TLP was controversial back then.
Ci Sha isn’t my type of visual but I find that he’s a much better actor than those porcelain male leads. I enjoy watching him and glad he’s getting the girl this time.
Ren Min is great for the edgier roles. I find her really dull in costume dramas. It might be like what one other poster said that her kind delivery feels so flat. It’s like one continuous monotonous voice. I wasn’t a huge fan of her in Rise of Ning.
Excited to see this couple. As for the mentions of her voice – I find her voice okay in TLP while her character there was annoying, but her line delivery and voice were both flat and grating in Rise of Ning even though I liked her character and face-acting there. I wonder which combo I’ll get there.
