So this one has been making the casting rumor this week in C-ent and seems to have a high likelihood of coming to fruition. C-actress Zhao Lu Si is reportedly going to do the Hunan TV modern romance and female empowerment C-drama As Beautiful as You as her next project and the first acting role since her medical hiatus plus agency dispute last year in 2026. The scheduling is that this drama is slated to start filming early summer 2026 so maybe one to two months from now, and after she does this she will then be doing the period xianxia C-drama also rumored previously. Another gossip is that she’s prepping to return to Weibo, where she loudly and publicly deleted her huge following account last year, and the timing will coincide with her filming return. Let’s wait and see what happens, she definitely knows how to generate buzz.

Modern Romance is suitable project for her to get back to drama filming. Not as physically demanding and wearing heavy costumes/hairpiece etc.

I read it’s one of those female empowerment Tale of Rose slice of life dramas. Love LuSi but bleagh, if so. Not my cuppa.
