Yumi’s Cells 3 with Kim Go Eun and Kim Jae Won Delivers the Same Cuteness and Slice-of-Live Appeal with Promise of the Final Happy Ending
I liked but didn’t fully love K-drama Yumi’s Cells, and I probably appreciate what it was trying to more than the actual characterizations and romance lines appealing to me personally. It’s basically a trilogy in female lead Yumi’s love life and the first two books are heartfelt journeys with unfinished endings, which is realistic but doesn’t deliver on the feel good aspect where K-romance is about the happy ending. But since I watched the first two seasons I was onboard for this third and final season and it actually has been such a pleasant watch. Female lead Kim Go Eun is just perfect as a more mature and successful Yumi, with less insecurity but still all her varying emotions in different states of flux. Male lead Kim Jae Won is doing a solid job as the reserved and almost too clinical male lead thanks to his good looks, height, and this sense of calm boyishness that is very sweet to watch onscreen. Those who enjoyed the first two seasons really shouldn’t miss this one, and those who didn’t I’m not sure it’s a good idea to just watch this one since this is a guaranteed happy ending but it’s hard to recommend going back to the earlier seasons and be simultaneously excited and frustrated along with younger Yumi.

I checked it out for KGE. The first ep is at least….boring. lol. It’s weird to mesh in cartoonish anime. The age gap can’t be unseen either. Pass totally.
I actually like it. And yes you can see the age difference but their chemistry is really good. I liked season 2 so much. I didn’t have much expectations for season 3 but I am actually loving it but wished it were longer because the first 2 seasons she really had story for both men and good kissing scenes 🤣 but on this one we have a very innocent one involving a fish. However, they might go all out in the last two episodes. It is too short. How can they do 14 ep for the men she didn’t end up with and only 8 season for the right one. Maybe it’s budget or how it was written? I don’t know but it’s funny and cute and easy to watch. It’s Kim Go Eun, she always delivers.
