Yoona in Talks for K-drama Adaptation of Forensic J-dorama Unnatural with Ishihara Satomi — 12 Comments

  1. She can’t act so keeping her face still will be i suppose doable.

Hopefully they find a better actress because that was a good drama and deserves better.

  2. J dramas are good, so is this one. Which is why It doesnt deserve a talentless “actress” like yoona as female lead. Hope they go with someone else

    • LOL. J-dramas are often just as underdeveloped as C-dramas. And because they are promoted to a lesser extent, they are spared the criticism that low quality could generate. Especially the writing of the characters overall.

      • Agree. I agree. I grew up watching Japanese TV shows, but I wouldn’t consider them useful.

  3. Satomi Ishihara has never been a particularly talented actress, she also has a long history of appalling performances, but I recognize her good work in Unnatural. It is not abysmal for Yoona not to be able to offer an existing presence on screen though. Lol.

  4. Interesting plot! Yooona is great at rom-coms, but her range in other genres is still unproven. Still, you have to admit she’s good at picking fun scripts.

  5. Ugh I liked her recent dramas but not for this genre and remake. Unnatural was so well done in the story and execution that I hope Korea does not fluff it up or attempt to make anything too cutesy like they did with Liar Game. Japan has a way to bring serious and dark things intriguing and especially slice of life humor and such very relatable; Atleast they did in the past not so much now. Like it has been a long minute since I have thoroughly enjoyed a Japanese drama for a long while now. I just feel every time they attempt to adapt a a fairly well done Japanese drama it just turns so stale and lifeless. The sarcasm in unnatural was what kept me intrigued as well as the grey characters. Who knows they may surprise but I have my doubts.

    • Japanese dramas are known for their high levels of sappiness and draggy plotlines. Very few of them have any depth. People’s biases really show here. Lol. They haven’t made much progress in the biz industry. They’re on par with China in terms of lack of artistic quality. But since Japan’s soft power is stronger, we don’t criticize it too much.

  6. I don’t get the hype with this lady. She may be good at comedy, but man, she’s bland in other genres. Also just mediocre as a singer/dancer. She seems like a nice person, so that must count for something in getting roles and gigs.
