This stuff frequently happens and ultimately the decision is on the producers of a drama the ideal person they want to cast. C-ent has a casting change on the upcoming strong female lead period C-drama Ci Tang (刺棠), it was inked for Wang Yu Wen for some time now and then later Zhang Ling He joined as the male lead. This week it’s being rumored about that the production has switched out Wang Yu Wen for Tian Xi Wei, not clear if the latter has accepted but only that the production wants her because of her recent popularity and bigger name. It could also be that Zhang Ling He fans are not happy with Wang Yu Wen considering her below him in level, and the production could also be looking for a Pursuit of Jade reunion with this new casting. I don’t care about the casting shenanigans behind the scene, if the end product works then it’ll always be considered the right decision post facto.
