Jang Won Young Takes Center Spot at Bulgari Event in South Korean Flanked by Kim Ji Won and Byun Woo Seok — 23 Comments

  1. There are other shots available that Kim Jiwon (being 1st Korean house and potentially global ambassador) stood central and flanked by the newer ambassadors. Nevertheless, pics of all 3 (regardless of position) are equally dazzling and captivating. Media even named the trio visually powerhouse royal siblings.

  2. Just for that pic. There was another pic with Kim Ji Won in the middle and KJW got to attend the launch in Milan. Getting kpop idols as ambassadors for designer fashion houses has been a trend for about the last decade. Tap into their fanbase and social reach to get future customers. Program young people to seek out their brands even if they don’t have the money now. It’s sort of hilarious when they have idols who are still in their teens be ambassadors.

    • @prettyautumn – Kim Jiwon looked stunning, the dark blue is an incredible colour on her combined with the long dark Hong Haein hair (which has to be extensions since her hair is currently in a bob for her upcoming drama). I think we’ve seen more of her thanks to Bulgari shoots and events in the last two years, than in the five years before that lol so as a fan I’m happy.

someone also posted a picture of her standing beside Byun Wooseok at the event and it had me thinking they’d make a beautiful drama couple even if she would be acting circles around him, their respective track records on costar chemistry are strong enough that with a script that makes use of their abilities I would be into it.

      • No jiwon thankfully is done with romance and the male leads always getting more shine due her effortlessly way of making them shine more. She’s done giving flowers to these men and not getting much out though qot she finally did but still even then the guy more out of the pairing. With wooseok who was carried by hyeyoon he’s still unproven, a pairing with jiwon would propel him to greater heights and make him take all the credit. As you said she’d act circles round him and he’d get all the glaze at her expense. Id rather her work with established actors or take female centric roles, not these buzzy IT boys.

      • “done with romance”? I hope not, I still need a drama with her and Kim Woobin as leads to make up for Heirs robbing me of their storyline haha.

she’s alternated romance dramas with more serious/non romance focused ones for the last 10 years anyway. Fight My Way —> Arthdal —> Lovestruck in the City—> My Liberation Notes—> QoT —> her upcoming medical drama. But I’m definitely not in favour of casting her with most of the current generation of new actors, most of them can’t act and don’t make good romantic leads.

      • @royalwe True but even with MLN which wasn’t romance the romance element of the show with her and sukku overshadowed everything, and there was sukku fever with him getting all the flowers. All her shows even AC has a romance plot, I hope doctor x is free of that and focuses only on her. I truly love her in romance but so far its a double edged sword and makes her performances underrated. After doctor x she’s in talks for detective park mi OK with chungmoro writer and a reunion with pd Kim heewon. The role was written for her in mind which is a big win considering some haters never let her forget she was 2nd choice for qot. I’m so ready for her female centric era maybe after the detective show she may return to romance.

      • I didn’t watch BWS main lead dramas so can’t say much about his acting, but looking at discussions around him and what type of haters he already has, I think playing with strong actress as Kim Ji Won would be bad decision for BWS image right now. People already badmouthing him by saying he uses female leads for his benefit (KHY’s acting and IU’s popularity). If he will choose next drama with actress at Kim Ji Won level, people will discuss it and badmouth him even more. Especially if his acting skills would be bad or mid in such drama. My take I think he needs either male center lead drama without romance to prove his acting skills or drama with female lead in 20s who didn’t make big name and criticaly acclaim for herself yet.
And if his acting as bad as people talking, I think he need to take it seriously and work on it, because if it will be the same in his next project he can get more hate which can seriously affect his image and reputation as an actor.
Well, although some actors and actresses who got massive criticism for their skills made people like and praise them after they improved it.

      • @Cba
The fact people downgraded Kim Ji Won in QOT just because she was “second choice” was annoying. Simple because why people think it’s bad for actor to be the second choice? Even if Kim Ji Won was tenth choice, it doesn’t make her acting skills and how she portrayed Hong Haein bad. Kim Ji Won was pretty good.
I kinda thing KJW’s acting is better than IU and after amount of criticism IU got for Perfect crown and videos I saw with her in that drama I have doubts IU would play Hong Haein as good or better than KJW to make who was a first or second choice of them matter. But I also hate the fact I comparing them, as if it’s some sort of competition just because they got offer to play the same character. I dislike fans who making everything a competition.

  3. Not a fan or anything, but Wonyoung’s charisma, confidence, and charisma really are off the charts! The girl clearly has main character energy, and will stand out even if she’s not in full glam or placed in the center lol. Undoubtedly one of korea’s It Girls today. Both her and Kim Ji Won look beautiful

      • @Sirey Newsflash: People can be objective even without being a fan lmao. I know it’s too much for all of y’all snarky women in here to fathom, but yes, normal people can praise or give credit to people even if they’re not a fan of that person. Another example is Ariana Grande, she’s a homewrecker (that guy that cheated with her is a homewrecker too, to be clear), but I can still praise her undeniable singing talent, charisma, and presence.

Not that I expect y’all to understand since most of y’all can’t be objective here. From my observation, most of y’all can’t give credit where its due if you don’t like the actor or actress, but normal people can lol. I know, shocking, right?

  4. I did not notice any cleavage at all until i read the article, but wonyoung is overated in my opinion and I hate the makeup.

  5. Wonyoung is so botoxed at 21 but I wonder where will she go when next it girl emerges. Hyori ( as soloist ) Suzy yoonaa ( quite top local actresses ) and Jennie ( global successful solo album and dracule is on hot 100 top ten usa ) have great success individually. All wonyoung fans boast about cfs.

She neither has the acting career and her solo flopped. She only films cfs and cfs lol

  6. Idols are more global than actors since third gen and now actors treat them better. Bts BLACKPINK members make more money than these actors and actors name drop them in every random show for clout. Wonyoung plastic is fourth gen it girl.

The hierarchy isn’t like earlier anymore. When top idols outearn top actor

    • First time agreeing with you, but yeah, I agree. People here can seethe all they want and insult wonyoung for being plastic (damn, didn’t know she has so many haters here, but why am i even surprised, female kdrama stans are known to be catty as hell to female idols), but she’s def the it girl along with karina and the BP members. don’t even know why she’s being hated, she’s stunning, confident, professional, and just minds her business, never been problematic (the worst thing jealous international fans can bash her for is being a “pick-me”, which is a word that has lost all meaning now).

Rooting for her and i wish her continued success so that these jealous women can continue to seethe lmao

      • do you really think most of the people leaving very ‘kpop’ style comments in here are ….kdrama stans? I would be shocked if any of them had watched a kdrama (that doesn’t star an idol) in their lives

there’s a difference in tone of comments between the ones who are actually here for the dramas and the ones who are just kpop stans or antis cluttering up yet another comment section to hate on an idol

The one exception is fans of a specific 1987-born actor who hasn’t led a hit drama in a decade now, those fans are worse than idol fans and I will fully join you in calling them what they are.

  7. BLACKPINK members changed the fashion game forever. All idols get such dealsm difference is BLACKPINK member s get paid millions per deal. They barely shoot local cfs

  8. I’ve seen a lot of pictures from this event. Certainly she wasn’t the only one in center. Kim Ji Won was too and BWS. They probably rotated and this just got circulated more.

  9. It probably was pre-decided arrangement as well, and as Kim Ji Won fan I don’t see any problem with that. Jang Won Young obviously more popular than KJW and BWS and idols have more fans who anticipated to buy products they advertising.
And I really dislike talks “actors above idols”. There are a lot of not so talented actors and talented idols, and idols as hard working as actors. And I know for a fact Jung Won Young is very hard working woman, who started to work since she was 13 yo.
