Liu Yu Ning’s New C-drama Evidence Starts Filming But Netizens Focus on Sudden Change of Female Lead From Wang Yu Wen to Zhang Yi Fan
I’m a bit surprised to see that C-actor Liu Yu Ning has picked a modern police procedure as his first drama in more than a year but a good change of pace for him. The Tencent C-drama Evidence (Tie Zheng 铁证) kicked off filming this week with Liu Yu Ning leading the cast, but the surprise and most of the online chatter is around the female lead being different than what was originally basically confirmed to be Wang Yu Wen. It’s not Zhang Yi Fan and word is this was a last minute switch and a role Wang Yu Wen did really want. Her side is calling it a scheduling conflict to safe face but this is an odd switch in terms of recognition and popularity Wang Yu Wen is by far the more famous actress. Oh wells, casting is hardly ever fair and solely based on ability so hopefully the choice turns out well for the production.
I doubt she will have a lot of screen time but it’s still a good exposure. Anyways, Sun Honglei will carry this drama.

Not a huge loss for Wang Yu Wen, since the female lead in this will most likely be playing a supporting role than any leading role. The drama is really led by 3 male actors.

Pretty new to CDramas (have watched 5 so far, love them) and I’ve been seeing lots of hate comments towards this Liu Yu Ning guy. Why is he hated? Is he problematic or something?
I have been watching Cdramas for quite a long time, but I don’t really have an answer for you. He looks like a pretty nice guy and his rise to fame is a really inspiring rags to riches story. I think he was at some point accused of trying to influence scriptwriters so that more scenes of him are added to dramas he was 2nd or 3rd male lead. He’s also criticized a lot for his looks. I can’t say I know of anything else.
The influencing scriptwriter rumours are false. He doesn’t have enough influence or background to do so, especially since he doesn’t even have an agency and grew up in poverty.
The person he was accused trying to steal scenes from is a veteran with much stronger influence than him and her husband was even one of the investors of said drama.

You hit the nail on the head. Liu Yuning is hated only on this site. In fact, I have realised this site seems to thrive on hateful comments, so I just move on from the hate and mind my business. As an adult, I don’t need anyone’s validation to like an actor or be indifferent to another actor. I definitely don’t hate any actor.
There are a lot of people in this forum always critised Yuning what ever he does… But all I know, he is an example for a hard-working people, who work hard from a very humble beginning until now… May be he is not super handsome, but he is very charming and unique..
There was a huge hate campaign against him couple of years ago for things he did not do and some people still believe in it. Some others are just pure haters because they have nothing better to do I guess.
He’s very loved outside of this site with a huge fandom in China.
They think he’s ugly. They’re also (side) jealous for the actors they like because Liu Yuning has been casted in and chosen actually good scripts and has been delivering in his performances. Mehheh. Sadly, it’s a true story.

There is no reason to be jealous of LYN. In fact, my fav is much more successful than him. Objectively speaking, his visuals lack appeal and his acting is mediocre. I particularly find his smarmy stares at female leads cringeworthy. lol

Look, we all have different tastes. Everyone is entitled to critique actors and dramas. However, getting overly defensive the moment your favorite is criticized shows a complete lack of maturity.
