Tencent Period C-drama The Road to Glory with Zhang Ling He and Lin Yun Release Filming Wrap Teaser Trailer with Viewers Calling it Pursuit of Jade 2
The success and then later criticism of period C-drama Pursuit of Jade is one of this odd happenings. The drama did well domestically and even better internationally and the critique of the foundation general visuals towards the end didn’t seem to have that much impact when all is said and done. That means any reference to PoJ can still be a good thing and male lead Zhang Ling He just finished filming Tencent period C-drama The Road to Glory with Lin Yun (Jelly Lin) and the first teaser production wrap video has viewers calling it PoJ v.2 due to the same male lead and similar scenes, set ups, and vibes. I think PoJ’s controversy may end up helping by keeping the drama in the news a lot more and longer than just your average drama run so if The Road to Glory is starting off getting compared to PoJ then it will get more coverage and that’s a good thing.

Omg, I can not wait to watch this drama. I love Zheng Linghe after watching POJ. I also bench watch his other dramas and like them. The Road To Glory look so good. The actress is so beautiful. They make such a cute couple.
I hope to see him with more action scenes in The Road To Glory. I know POJ is about Fan Changyu, but since I’ve also read the novel, knowing Xie Zheng has a couple epic war scenes left me disappointed.
The male and female leads hair is the only thing I feel is a bit odd. I guess they feel more like wigs and less natural on them. Other than that the story from what I see seems regular and hopefully a good watch. I have a feeling he will get compared from now on from his previous role in POJ for a long while. Not because of the general mess but simply because it was the better drama in a long while from him.
Unsurprisingly, The Road to Glory and Pursuit of Jade share the same vibe. After all, they have the same author – much like how Jane Austen’s novels all share a signature style. I hope ZLH has more screen time in TRTG. I want more eye candy. lol.
I wonder if they’ll show a sex scene with a collar on the throne
So excited for this! Both leads are so eye candy so I hope they will have great chemistry. I’m also excited for his drama with WCR. He’s starring with all the pretty ladies.
