Meng Zi Yi to Pair Up with Ding Yu Xi for Upcoming Modern Romance C-drama Endless Summer — 15 Comments

  1. She can’t act but DYX’s popularity hasn’t panned out as much as they hoped either so it’s not so strange. He is not strong enough to carry her but at least it’s pretty people on screen. Good enough for an idol drama.

    • It’s hard to say about dyx’s popularity. Maybe he’s not that popular internationally but I guess he’s quite popular in China or at least his fanbase is big enough for him to keep getting endorsement deals.

      • His agency is doing job at his momentum after LGIEF brings him fans surge. Don’t be fooled internet popularity isn’t the same as national popularity. Since his drama with Esther, he has struggled to have even drama reaching 10 million views. The smoke and mirrors about so-called traffic is really impressive. Watch Li Yunrui drama can’t reach 5 millions on 2 big platforms. Popular but i wouldn’t say top. Endorsements little-known celebrities have plenty. I can’t use like the only status measure.

    • Ding Yuxi is actually on the upward trend. Some insiders even say he’s the current top now. He may not be popular overseas but what matters most is his popularity domestically.

      • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Current top? The stuff I will read from international delulu fans. This guy is C list with repeated flops.

Get a grip, this is embarrassing.

  2. I don’t get their appeal. There are so many actors and actresses but they keep giving multiple roles to the same small handful of folks. With fewer long form dramas in production, you would think they would try to spread the wealth and cultivate more actors instead of heavily investing in the same group over and over again.

    • Exactly! And always the same old faces in the same old idol dramas. Same old genre. Its so so boring. I dont like mengziyi nth abt her looks, personality or acting appeal.

  3. Is this confirmed? I thought Ding Yuxi’s fans are against this pairing. From what I understand, Meng Ziyi and Victoria Song are managed by Jia Shikai. Victoria Song & Ding Yuxi were the main leads in Fight for love, but dyx screen time was so little and his fans said it was because of jia shikai. That’s why they don’t want him to work with anyone under jia shikai’s agency. Some of his fans even said jia shikai is obsessed with dyx since there are multiple rumours of mzy & dyx in different dramas where mzy name is almost always listed first. Although dxy status isn’t that high, his status is definitely higher than mzy and his public image is good in china.

  4. The stepmother in Splendid Match and MZY must’ve used the same plastic surgeon because their faces are the same prototype- puffed up fish mouths, V-line face shape and identical eyes.

  5. It’s infuriating how many dramas she’s being cast in as the woman CANNOT act. She destroyed The Princess’s Gambit, and just about any male actor who is cast opposite her has to work extra hard just to carry her through each scene.

She is the only Chinese actress I refuse to watch, so any drama she stars in is an immediate “Not interested” for me.

A shame for this one if the pairing does turn out to be true, as Ding Yu Xi has turned out some interesting performances recently.

But nope. I’m at the point where, if she was the last Chinese actress in China, I would be moving onto Korean dramas as I just can’t with her lack of talent and same-expression-in-every-scene face, including when her character’s life is threatened.

    • Same sentiment here. I tolerated her in Blossom but everything thing else she has starred in turned me off. I refuse to watch any of her dramas

  6. The resources Meng Ziyi gets is unbelievable. At least Ding Yuxi is a good actor. It’ll either make her awful acting glaringly obvious, or he can somewhat carry her. Between her and Dylan Wang, neither can act so I’m not sure what to expect for their drama.
