Since the success of Pursuit of Jade both leads have been rumored and discussed for what seems like every period C-drama in planning stages. It’s nice to be wanted and have options, so this may not happen but seems more on the likely side. Tian Xi Wei is reportedly the first choice female lead for the C-drama Deng Hua Xiao (灯花笑) from the novel by Qian Shan Cha Ke who also wrote Legend of the Female General and The Glory, as well as the upcoming Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage. She’s worked with this production team before plus this is a strong female lead story so I can see her taking it. The male lead in early rumor stage is Li Yun Rui but the production is focused on lining her up and the male lead being cast will come second so his casting is even more up in the air for this drama.
