Long Delayed Period C-drama Legend of the Rosy Clouds with Li Yi Tong, Zeng Shun Xi, and Deng Wei Confirmed for June 20th Premiere on iQiyi
Well this may be a case of the opposite of better late than never, because from what I just saw it should stay on the shelf for the sake of the leads lol. Period C-drama Legend of the Rosy Clouds (云秀行 Yun Xiu Xing) with Li Yi Tong, Zeng Shun Xi, and Deng Wei is confirmed for release this weekend June 20th on iQiyi. The drama was filmed in 2023 and there was never a definitive reason for the lack of airing in a reasonable time frame after production finished but rumors are issues with IP rights as it’s inspired/based on a Japanese IP. The posters look fine but the previews was massively cringeworthy, like so so comedic and dorky and I still don’t quite know what the core issue is in the drama and how all the characters fit together. Other than the leads there are other familiar faces like Dai Lu Wa, Riley Wang, and Tian Jia Rui but all are there before those stars got more famous.

Started this and it is pretty enjoyable. Will it join the ranks of dramas people still talk about 6 months after airing? Most likely no, but I don’t think it’s going to be hot mess territory. It is a nice throwback to see some of the actors in roles before they got bigger. If it had aired back in 2024, it would have seemed outdated, but by 2026, it seems almost charmingly quaint to me and adds some refreshing variety to an idol drama landscape of revenge and rebirth.
