C-ent Gossiping About Turmoil in Recently Started Filming C-drama Love in the Shell with Yu Shu Xin and Hou Ming Hao Including a Possible Male Lead Recast
Every time I think I’ve seen shit go down in C-drama land, whether in the casting phase to filming problems to post-production scandals, a new iteration pops up. The drama of the week goes to xianxia romance Love in the Shell (念相思 Nian Xiang Si or Longing for My Beloved) which has only been filming for a month but has enough tea for a whole year. Before filming began the equally vocal respective fandoms of leads Yu Shu Xin and Hou Ming Hao were already at each other’s throats, hers wanting top billing noted and followed and his side complaining that he’s a bigger star and deserves top or at least equal stature and that she’s a problematic actress in skills and scandals. The two did not attend the filming commencement ceremony together but went separately to their respective fan events, and so far the filming has been mostly separate scenes with very few scenes filmed together so far. This week things came a head with the rumor spreading that filming will be halted next week and the male lead recast. Lol, seriously? Reportedly the two fandoms continued to war and went as far as reporting the other and getting each in trouble (him for sticking his head out a car to talk to fans and hers for her van maybe parking in a handicap stop or using a disabled lane). C-ent insiders are saying filming will not be shutting down as she will continue to film her scenes, but it’s not clear yet if he is being replaced or just put in a time out for now haha.

such a mess but they still give so much chances to ‘fandoms’ in Cdramaland… I dont get it.

Not that this drama will be a hit irrespective of who the male lead is but YSX biggest issue seems to be her fandom on twitter, they bully all her male leads even when the drama is a hit. It’s ridiculous why does some actress who doesn’t even know you exist stir such a strong reaction? She’s a celebrity and does not need your concern at all. This goes for fandoms in general. Support quietly without masking comments online. These people neither know you exist nor do they care about your existence. Fans are just faceless money bags, everyone should get a grip on that by now. I’m glad Journey to Glow recast her because that drama is filming smoothly and looks like a beautiful and healing drama. This one looks like a costume party with a plot that’s not even following the original in any sense. I don’t think she should do anymore dramas till her fandom apologies and becomes less possessive. Dilraba and Yang Zi are more critically acclaimed and popular than her but none of their fans are this disruptive. Both ZLS and YSX have very toxic fandoms online.
Her brand’s is badly affected by family corruption scandal.
I’m curious if the scandal is actually true. Just a few days ago xinhua news agency weibo posted about a number of romance drama including lgief but on male lead was tagged. Similar thing also happened earlier this year with people’s daily.
Not just that, she has legitimate bullying scandal from back when she did idol competition show. The contestant talked about Esther’s mean tactics and somehow her fans want to sweep it under the rug and say it’s nothing.
Some scandals…are not easy to rise over. I believe if she does have a new drama, she has enough fans to get decent rating if production is good. The problem is, what if some issues arises and the drama is shelved. No one with some popularity dare to take the risk. It may not even be due to the male actors, such decisions are likely made by their agencies.
How can she/her fans demand top billing tho when there is that whole name strokes going on with cent right now? Have they found yet another loop hole for this?
A person can have top billing. In order to do that, only one actor/actress is given the main lead status and then they have top billing. So when they demand that they are demanding for the other actor to be demoted to supporting.
Rule about order by stroke works when multiple people are in the same tier. Of course in this case they are delusional that she can get a solo main role designation.
Nepo baby thinks too much of herself but not surprising. She has bought everything else in life. Pity she can’t buy talent.
Honestly it would be nice if the government stepped in or someone to regulate these crazy fans for all celebs. Stop interfering with drama production please?! I know not many like the female actress but no one is alone in this fandom nonsense. My mind just can’t fathom how manipulative fandoms are over there.
HMH’s fans was disappointed because he was rumored for second-billed before the new regulations took effect. It’s escalated from that.
Please don’t. They are a matchmade in heaven for each other. I can already imagine Esther’s infantile way of portraying the female lead, along with Neo’s constipated expressions. Jn other words, a perfect skip for us viewers.
Not a fan, but I checked HMH’s dramas from time to time. Nonetheless, since Esther Yu is the FL for this drama, I’ll be passing on it by default. lol Ngl, Esther needs PS to convince me she fits any leading role in costume idol drama. I’ve never been the one promoting PS. But her looks are a huge distraction when I want to focus on the plot. Her acting doesn’t help either. Instead of being an asset to C-ent, she’s obviously been heavily relying on her parents’ connections and money as leverage to secure projects, not something respectable TBH. She robbed better actresses of many opportunities.
Unless they’re planning to leave the production, not attending the commencement ceremony feels like a disrespect to the drama. I know the actors bring in the investments so that the drama can get filmed and those investments changes the quality level, but at the same time, actors and the production allowing fandom fights to influence the drama – no faith in it being a good watch.
Though I think it would be funny if these two end up having explosive chemistry and having hot make-out scenes in this drama. The fans’ heads would explode.

Hmh fans making fuss from the beginning with saying he is the top billing and saying ysx is problematic when gov already cleared her with how she could do concert and gala,

Ysx still has drama to filmed this year, hoping this drama got wrapped up quickly and be done.
Hmh fans already have bad reputation with how he got recast because they don’t like his previous rumour FL. So i’m not surprised if they recast him again because of his fans
I feel like he is always filming a drama though with the many dramas that have aired thus far with him in it. Maybe that is why they feel he is a top actor. He is okay but could use some growth and those fans of his don’t seem to be helping with that. But I feel most fans in general hinder their celebs when they get so cantankerous like this. 🤷🏻♀️
I haven’t been able to get into any HMH dramas to be honest. The only one i was able to finish that he starred in was that martial anime one, where he pretty much had zero romantic interactions lol. Where love isn’t involved, i think he’s entertaining. But when he’s ML in a relationship, idk why but i find him…oily? Too pretty? It’s hard to watch him.
Meanwhile, i mostly enjoy Esther’s dramas – not all, but a good amount. Not every project will be a runway hit, but she has made some great dramas and that is enough to prove she has the talent and acting chops. One big hit – okay rookie luck. Two major hits? Getting warmer. She just needs one more to secure her standing (i quite like her first drama, but that was eons ago). This whole corruption scandal is a nothingburger and then the bullying rumors (like she called someone a witch? Big deal?).
It’s overall really silly and to be honest, feels more like a smear campaign.
In any case, add oil Esther! She’ll come back stronger, better and greater
