Yoo Ah In Makes Acting Career Return in Exhuma Director’s Next K-movie Vampire Also Starring Lee Sung Min and Lee Joon Hyuk
So the rumors last month are indeed true. Formerly disgraced and cancelled K-actor Yoo Ah In will indeed make his acting career return in a new movie that is heading into production. It’s titled Vampire and is directed by award winning director Jang Jae Hyun of Exhuma and The Priests. The movie also includes famous stars Lee Sung Min and Lee Joon Hyuk in the cast along with Yoon Kyung Ho, and Choi Hyun Wook. Yoo Ah In was cancelled and even dropped by his agency after his drug use arrest and trial, he was convicted but got a suspended sentence which was later dropped on appeal. International fans felt he should not been cancelled for breaking SK drug laws but only harming himself by his drug use, in Western entertainment industries this would not have been a big issue. Only time will tell if South Korean domestic viewers will be open to his return but the industry is certainly ready to bank on him again.

The only person he hurt is himself, I hope he’s in better health now because it made no sense that abusers can be let back into working in k-ent but not him? Hope he’s not under as much strain this time.

YAI is a talented actor, I am happy he is making a return. He definitely looks better now compared to before his conviction. He lost his father and everything he built. He’s starting over now…damn…I don’t understand the strict drug laws in SK. I mean, I think sexual assault should be more strict, but it isn’t, so I don’t find that YAI is such a bad person.

His “drug” case was interesting cos i think he was intentionally targeted and someone there definitely wanted him out and done for. They will vilify him but ok with people like lee byung hun or sexual predators coming back to the industry. i’m so glad to see that he’s back – esp in a sea of people who can’t act these days.
I’m so glad he’s making a comeback. He’s miles too talented to sit on the shelf due to all his troubles. I hope he gets better – mentally and otherwise. I understand why S. Korea chooses to criminalize drug dependency, but at the end of the day, the dude is only hurting himself and needs treatment not public crucifixion.
