Disney+ and Hulu K-drama The Remarried Empress Outdoes Past Mediocrity in Poster Producing By Releasing the Worst Drama Posters in the Entirety of the Universe — 19 Comments

  1. Looks like they were going for a Disney storybook feel but to me it looks like they did this to de age them so to speak. It does them more a disservice like is it more obvious they are in their 40s and with that I mean the first poster. Like trying too hard to distract the obvious. Nothing wrong with being in your 40s by the way. It is corny but this is based on a webtoon so I would not expect much. Good luck to them. I’m sure they will do as well as can be maybe.

  2. Your headline was a roller coaster ride.

I don’t have anything to say about the show bec Shin Mina is very pretty but just never appeals to me enough to watch her show despite giving her a try.

  3. I like these posters. They add to the super makjang, crazy feel of this drama that caters to those of us avid K-drama fans who also like this genre and like watching established leading actors and actresses showing off dramatic acting in exaggerated outfits and drama sets. Like Penthouse, Lady Durian, The Last Empress…they were so good to watch for entertainment. In the past, every once in a while, there were such classic makjang dramas that eventually became very well remembered after many years have passed…recalling East of Eden, What Happened in Bali, Secret Garden, Sky Castle….I hope The Remarried Empress will be just as entertaining.

  4. I wonder what made them sign onto this – must be the amazing paycheck- cos I refuse to believe all of them think these promos are good. Its straight up amateur work. The drama itself looks so cheesy and the posters are some of the worst ive ever seen. Shin mina and lee jong suk have never appealed to me so despite liking jjh and finding lsy watchable im skipping this.

  5. All 4 leads are my fav. But I want someone to burn this drama.
The manhwa never appealing to me. And everything I hv seen about this drama looks bad.

  6. SMN is such a bland actress. I’ve watched at least 3 of her dramas, hoping I’d see some improvement in her acting, but nope, I just can’t seem to connect with what she’s conveying onscreen. As for LJS, I can’t bring myself to see his overly plastic surgery-ed face on my screen.

I would have watched it for JJH, but nah, the plot, promos, and 2 of the 4 actors are a nope for me.

  7. Who are these actors?! Are they famous? Have we seen them in any other dramas?! I have such a hard time recognizing their faces……🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a failure and a waste of great actors!

  8. Much like the Netflix series Bridgerton, where forcing DEI concepts into a British period setting created a tacky and cringeworthy visual mishap, the styling of this drama is equally bizarre. Seeing Asian faces dressed up in Renaissance attire is so odd that it kills my interest right from the start. lol

    • Bridgerton was all fantasy though, as the author of the books mentioned. Being historical fiction, they could do whatever they wanted regarding ethnicities and skin tones to include. There is no impediment to it. Your comment sounds like a whine for “cultural appropriation”.

So unrelated, but there are series that dare to include magic and laws against gravity, but are not able to remove the subjugation of women for example. Then they justify it by saying that it is “historical” even though it is not necessary since each work is as free as the author wants it to be, but curiously, that the woman is crushed cannot be avoided. Lmao! It is something that I have noticed in many works, starting with the Japanese manga.

    • The fact that you, an Asian woman, live in our country is also part of DEI. What are you complaining about? You can go back to your Chinese hellhole anytime. LMAO. So much pretension, yet in the end, no white man wanted your Asian kitty. You had to settle for one of your own kind, whose parents are little Chinamen. The US is teeming with different ethnic groups, yet the Caucasian population is shrinking. It’s all because people like you have come here to be a nuisance. You hide behind the law (by being “legal”), but we will never see you as one of us. You’re just a Chinese woman pretending to be democratic, yet in various comment sections, your communist side comes out without a hitch. Lol. Even at work, your Asian features can be a hindrance to working without issues. Your small, narrow eyes — lol.

How many years have you been a leech on the US? 40?

      • The audacity of a caucasian living in US to be racist towards Asian when your ancestors genocided native americans to steal their land LOL If time machine existed you should’ve gone back in time and tell colombus to get tf off of american soil.

      • Yikes, that’s a lot of racist hatred you got there. Kinda surprised your comments got through. But news flash, not all Asian women are into Caucasian men. And Caucasians are not the original population of USA/Canada/Australia/New Zealand. They slaughtered the natives and claimed their land, so don’t act so morally righteous about your criminal murderous ancestors and land that was stolen. The shrinking population is just one of the (rightfully) karmic dues that is paid now, but with the blood of slavery and other dirty acts that had been committed in the past en even now, more will follow.

      • This RYYY came out of nowhere. A bot, most likely! lol. Research shows one-third of the hateful language online is generated by bots from authoritarian sources like China, Russia, and Iran. Just look at the sheer volume of idiocy in your gibberish nonsense! Sane people wouldn’t ramble with such trash! lol. There are so many fallacies in your crap, including your guess about my ethnicity. I’m not Chinese. lol

It’s a blessing that my country has me as her citizen – someone who is highly educated, highly skilled, and actively keeping the GDP afloat while you jobless nugu spend your processing power typing out substandard garbage. lmao

      • Folks, RYYYY sounds exactly like a site user named “LMAO,” who constantly switches between different usernames just to instigate hatred towards white people. She most likely isn’t white. Rather, this is a very common trick used by CCP bots or online psychos to create hatred within the Asian community towards white people and democratic systems, specifically the US. I won’t fall for it. She is stupid. lol. She needs a psychiatrist! lol

      • @SOMEBODY. Hahahaha! you don’t have to hate Caucasians especially those of us in the USA, considering we’re the ones who gave you an identity and put food in your mouth lmaooo. We’re your saviors; you never would have made any progress in your Chinese or Taiwanese hell. Middle-aged chink, I don’t know who the other user might be, but the fact that you mention them suggests that a sensitive nerve was touched regarding your dirty Chinese heritage. You lot keep breeding among the rats of your own ethnicity because nobody else wants you, lmao. “Highly educated” — the funny thing is that you often write as if you’re having a mental breakdown, or as if there’s some brat behind the screen. It’s even more embarrassing that you actually consider yourself educated and sensible hahaha! Asian women your age (over 35 or 40) really ought to calm down a bit otherwise, those tiny eyes of theirs are going to disappear from their faces entirely! IJBOL.

      • Keep bitching! I’ll let you continue to expose your own idiocy. It’s so entertaining. lmao.

  9. These covers remind me of the covers used for the faux-european fantasy webnovels that the webtoons are often adapted from. They always look like they’ve come out of a vampire movie. I do wonder how much they all costs with hiring 4 actors who are often headliners in their own right and with creating new costumes and sets.
