Son Seok Gu to Make Drama Return After 2 Years with jTBC Series My Release Diary with Lee Min Ki and Kim Ji Won by the Screenwriter of My Ahjusshi

A prestige drama is in the works over at jTBC and the stars are close to lining up. Acclaimed actor Son Seok Gu is confirmed to headline the upcoming My Release Diary which also makes the comeback project for screenwriter Park Hae Young after the award winning My Ahjussi (My Mister) in 2018. The drama has him playing a mysterious character in a story about a trio of siblings. Already signed on to the drama earlier this year is Lee Min Ki and Kim Ji Won who will be reunited with the director of the vampire movie Detective K: Secret of the Living Dead who is slated to direct this drama and was also the PD of The Light in Your Eyes (Brilliant). I see lots of thoughtful story telling to come and likely corresponding tears which will be well earned.

What a great combo! I love the writer and PD’s previous works and LMK and KJW sounds like a good pairing on paper. KJW is really due for a good drama so fingers crossed this will be good.

I am sooo excited for this every show these days is either a thriller about serial killers or a boring romcom. I am craving for a similar masterpiece like my mister. Everything has me sold, the cast, the writer and the director.
