Writer Kim Eun Hee Preps Early 2023 Horror Drama The Demon with First Casting News of Kim Tae Ri, Oh Jung Se, and Hong Kyung
I applaud writer Kim Eun Hee for continuing to challenge herself and this genre of horror is in she’s been tangentially dabbling with in her recent dramas. Jirisan had spooky bits and zombie sageuk Kingdom was scary as heck at times though zombie occupies its own genre outside of just pure supernatural horror. Her upcoming early 2023 SBS drama The Demon (Korean title more directly translates to evil ghost or evil spirit) is straight horror, about a woman who can see the supernatural and embarks on a quest to stop a demonic force. The first names cast are Kim Tae Ri, Oh Jung Se, and Hong Kyung, but I expect more names added in the coming weeks. The drama is slated to film in early fall.

Ack, nope. Not her.
The writer should stop with this kind of theme. Jirisan was really bad…
I fully understand that Kim Tae Ri also wants to earn a living, and she will undoubtedly be well compensated for appearing in this drama. But it is depressing that an actress of her caliber needs to slum on a network like SBS.
Love horror! crossing fingers itโs something along like The Guest but a bit more hopeful
Oh Jungse is surprise. He feels nothing like Gong Yoo (original ML), so didn’t expect them to be candidates for the same role.
Same, would have never thought Oh Jung Se and Kim Tae Ri would be in the same drama as leads. Like both actors but I canโt do horror and not a fan of the writer. Signal was a bore and Jirisan was just down right terrible. Wish Kim Tae Ri had turned this down.
holy moly who is that divine creature that i’ve never seen before!
i love oh jung se’s rise to the A-list bc of wtcb and iotnbo. such a talented actor and his success is very well-deserved.
Kim tae ri is clearly number one actress of generation and it is not even close anymore. Likes of woozie lick her feet
Jirisan was hardcarried by the scenic backdrops and Oh Jung Se. Kingdom was a new twist on zombies and benefited a lot from Netflix’s deep pockets. Signal had a great cast but the drama itself was a drag. Kim Taeri and Oh Jung Se can make this work when it comes to acting but I’m hoping the writing is a huge improvement from Jirisan.
Aww, will have to pass on this one as I don’t like spending my time and energy scaring myself lol. Would have to wait for KTR’s next project after this then ๐
