Filming Locations such as the Countryside and Germany and Brands like Mercedes Benz in Queen of Tears Gets Boost in Visitors and Customers in Wake of Hit Drama Ratings
K-ent is reporting that there is a real boost to the brands and locations in the hit tvN drama Queen of Tears and it’s exactly why it’s smart to promote with the right drama. Travel agents in South Korea have noted an increase in interest and bookings specifically for Germany in the last month, and the overseas location shoot there was as substantive in showing the sights of the country the same way the extensive location shoot in Switzerland netting long term travel interest boost there after Crash Landing on You. The countryside cities and towns used as a stand-in for the fictional Yongduri and surrounding date environs has also seen a spike in visitors and it makes me so happy to see more of South Korea featured than just Seoul. Mercedes Benz has confirmed interest went up after its vehicles were driven prominently in the drama primarily by male lead Kim Soo Hyun in the AMG convertible with the red top. And lastly for Seoul residents, the Hyundai Seoul department store was the stand-in for the Queens department store and is an easy visit for locals. And in a non-location related boost, sales for three piece suits (jacket, vest, pants) have increased after Kim Soo Hyun wore the work look in the drama.
For someone who lived in Germany for a bit – they really did filmed Germany gorgeously. I’m happy it’s in the spotlight. I have to say the 3 piece suit is really quite old fashioned in my view and Baek Hyun Woo really did rock it – I guess it must have been the bike scene and all those corporate scenes – gosh was it hawt LOL
I was at the exact same place in Germany about 10 days ago, and it was raining, freezing, there was even hale and a little bit of snow… So if anyone is planning to visit, don’t unless it’s between June and September, I guess! 😃

After CLOY, they were a lot of tourists in Switzerland who went to the filming spots. It caused a lot of issues because it was not big places… But Kdramas bring a lot of interest in their filming places.
Germany is definitely on my places-to-visit after QOT. And man does KSH look smashing in a 3 piece suit. It doesnt work for everyone, but he rocks it like no one can.
Baek Hyunwoo in those suits will be the end of me. I’m not dating a guy who can’t wear it like KSH which means I’m not dating a guy period.
No but jokes aside, this drama really exploded so not surprised on the increase in sales/interest for these products. I also loved all of Hyunwoo’s other outfits in the drama like those large knits and wool button downs. KSH carries all clothing like they are make for him and its gorgeous! Wish they didnt cost over 1k each tho LOLLL
I love Hyun Woo’s sweaters so much. So understated and classy. The one he wore while prepping for the nursery is a personal favourite
We only see this type of viral drama once every 4-5 years. All this products sales, tourism boost, drama craze is amazing. KSH has a fan-meet in Japan next month seating 11k people x 2 days. To fill an arena that huge for an actor is insane. This is round 3 of KSH syndrome in Korea and beyond and I am so here for it!!
Kim Soo Hyun can sell and / or generate interest in anything right now. Even a 500k car apparently lol
