Script Reading Stills Star-studded Cast of Shin Mina, Joo Ji Hoon, Lee Jong Seok, and Lee Se Young in K-drama Live Action Adaptation of Remarried Empress
The cast has been assembled and what’s left is to see how exactly a live action K-drama version of manhwa Remarried Empress will turn out. The over/under on hot mess versus unexpectedly compelling starts now. That it could even be good comes from a strong and very famous foursome cast of Shin Mina, Lee Jong Seok, Joo Ji Hoon, and Lee Se Young, with the latter two taking on antagonist roles that readers love to hate on because both are so insanely douchey and punch-able. Apparently Shin Mina and Joo Ji Hoon went first to Europe to film their scenes and now Lee Jong Seok and Lee Se Young are there as well to join them in more filming. There is also confirmation that the characters retain their original names Navier, Heinrey, Sovieshu, and Rashta so the European royalty esque setting will remain rather than transposing this to a historical or fictional Korean period. What makes me happiest is as a viewer I can still refer to the two dumbasses as Stupid-shoe and Trashta haha.

This sounds so weird with all the European vibes but Asian faces. I hope at least the script and the directing are on a par with Arthdal Chronicles II that was a good combo of Korean and Western settings/contexts. I’m not drawn to any of the four main leads unless the plot is interesting and well executed although they are decent actors.
Joo ji hoon looks like a giant compared to the rest. Never noticed his height till seeing these pictures.
Not a fan of the webtoon but i’m still curious . Are they going to collaborate with european costumes designers, In France , we have a great collection of costumes coming from movies and from La société de la Comédie Française . I suppose that Italy too as they used to produce a lot of historical movies decades ago .
I am so looking forward to this… not because it will be a big hit but happy to watch something different. Love the casts too. I am a small Joo Ji Hoon and Shin Mina fan.
I am really looking forward to this drama!!
First thing I noticed too. I’ve always thought LJS is taller or the same height as JJH. Maybe it looks like this because he’s leaning against the wall?
I’ve read the web comic and either this adaptation will end up as an abysmal trash of a flop or it will be one of those absolutely can’t-look-away makjang-esque types that has been missing from the scene in recent years. There is a market for faceslapping dramas and this can swing either way.
I have my doubts about them pulling off the European concept and I’ve heard the webtoon isn’t really the best, but I guess it’s still something different and worth looking forward to.
As a fan of the webtoon, I’m happy they’re keeping the European setting. Currently watching The First Night With The Duke which is another webtoon adaptation set in a more European setting but the drama has been made into Joseon era. Which is fine but it’s just okay.
