When stars talked about being overworked, it’s clearly more true than not but even from the public eye some are definitely getting run more ragged than others openly. Top drama actress Bai Lu is one of those who has not stopped for any meaningful period of time for what feels like 7 years straight since she started landing female lead roles. To her credit she may want to keep taking on the projects rather than being pressured to do so in order to keep her own popularity high, and with her works it’s just hit or miss for me but never because I think she’s doing a bad job in the role. She’s currently filming Mo Li with Cheng Lei which should wrap production soon, and now comes news that she’s in talks for her next drama the iQiyi produced Chinese Peach and Plum. It’s a modern drama but set two decades earlier in 2000 with two students in college studying Chinese literature and their romance. The male lead in discussions is reportedly Shawn Dou (Dou Xiao) but it’s yet early to confirm for either star.
