Tencent to Schedule Period Comedic Culinary Drama Yummy Yummy Yummy with Li Yun Rui and Wang Ying Lu for Early Next Month September 2025
So word on the street is that Tencent will follow up currently airing period fantasy drama Moonlit Reunion when it finishes in early September next month with a genre pivot to comedic toned food themed period drama Yummy Yummy Yummy. I love the ridiculous English title so much but the Chinese title is totally normal called 宴遇永安 Yan Yu Yong Yan or Banquet Meeting in Yong An. The drama stars Li Yun Rui as a period official who crosses path with Wang Ying Lu and her entire family who has transmigrated from the present to the ancient times together. They run a restaurant in modern times so embark on running a restaurant in olden times, complete with all their modern recipes and sensibilities. This is obviously intended to be tonally incongruent but from the preview everyone leans into the joke and it actually looks super cute. And bonus points for Wang Ying Lu, whose visuals I’ve never warmed up to, actually looking adorable in her look for this drama and channeling Tan Song Yun in all the best ways.

I’ve become a new fan of Wang Ying Lu, she has some charm, she’s making When destiny brings the demon watchable.
I like her look it’s slightly different, reminds me a bit of Anita Mui.
There are plenty of genres in Cdrama that have never successfully convinced me of being worthwhile. Comedy is one of them. Nonetheless, I’ll check this out to see how LYR does.
This makes me so happy! Im so glad to see Wang Ying Lu is getting known more with these costume dramas *-* Even when Im bored with script I dont want to skip her parts because oof her mimics and expressions.

I really like her in WDBTD but Arthur is just bad. Cant stand his acting. Now i have no expectation on how he delivers his character in the upcoming drama with Dilraba. Huft.
Cant wait for this drama. She looks fun and adorable.
