Song Zu Er and Chen Xin Hai Make a Visual Couple in Strong First Teaser for Tencent Period Romance C-drama Biao Mei Wan Fu
C-actress Song Zu Er‘s comeback with two back-to-back strong dramas in The Demon Hunter’s Romance and The Prisoner of Beauty was one of the positive stories in C-ent this year. But those dramas were filmed over two years prior to release and it wasn’t guaranteed that she would be as strong in her future dramas after taking a year and a half hiatus. But any worries are not naught as Tencent just released the first teaser for period romance C-drama Biao Mei Wan Fu (表妹万福) and girl look every bit her top visual self. Even better is male lead Chen Xin Hai also looking fantastic as the older cousin protector character, the two bring the yin/yang complementary pairing here. While I didn’t love the running to her man scene too similar to the similar set up in TPoB at least the teaser knows what viewers want, a feisty girl who still needs a strong man haha.

Song Zu Er looks amazing! Chen Xin Hai looks handsome too, though I’m surprised he has already leveled up to first male lead status who gets to work opposite Song Zu Er. the industry can move at lightning speed sometimes.
A little too fast for him…unless his acting is starting to spark.. I dont dislike him but I dont feel he is ready for the lead role at all.
i was surprised too, he’s still strictly in the territory of building a resume as a second lead in dramas with bigger leads imo but im guessing she’s still building reliability after her scandal so she’s ok starring as leads with actors who aren’t as established as her for now as long as she gets to be on screen and producers and agencies can use this to get her in their dramas at a lower fee
Perhaps he’s got powerful connection for special treatment and favor, aka hidden rules （潛規則）🤭. There are quite a few capable actors with great visuals who had been for a long while or are still taking supporting roles. For someone like him without convincing resume to get a leading role costarring with a famous actress who just had two consecutive popular dramas, it seems to me more likely he’s got some backing to land the job. After Yu Menglong’s death, I’m totally convinced hidden rules dominate C-ent.
I agree about Hidden rules…I saw it in talentless Zheng Shuang.
I like Song Zuer, she is not a big beauty but she is lovely to watch. I am not as excited about main lead…I just dont think he is a lead actor material but that may change in this drama…I will watch and see.

Zhang Hui Wen. Costumes looks very beautiful on them. I dont know the lead actor, his wig(sides) bother me a lot when I watch couple scenes xD. way too neat and like drawn with a marker.

I quite like ML’s visuals – he has male lead looks, strong physique, broad shoulders. Some men can only be tall or manly looking, but not good looking and manly. He’s one of the rare ones IMO
Who is he? So many new ML nowadays, I can’t caught up remembering their names, I bet connections is number 1 now, why can’t they give my baby ziyu scripts since he is top traffic star now.
