Zhang Ling He’s Fandom Openly Voices Complaint About His New Drama Revenge Casting Same Agency Lu Yu Xiao as Female Lead
This certainly takes fandom posturing to a new level lol. This week Zhang Ling He‘s fandom posted an official statement titled “Public Notice of Protecting Rights” where it lit into the recent casting rumor that Lu Yu Xiao would be his female led in the period romance drama Revenge. The statement did not name her openly but everyone knows its complaining about her. His fandom objects to her casting because they think Zhang Ling He’s agency, which is also her agency, is casting her so that she can ride his recent success with Pursuit of Jade and level her up. They also complain that said same agency actress has many recent controversies when filming and with other fandoms (true and true haha, but also all minor petty stuff) and so her bad public image would be a detriment to Zhang Ling He starring with her. There is also rumors that Revenge is being delayed from July to September filming start in order to accommodate Lu Yu Xiao who is wrapping up filming her current drama by the end of August, and that annoys his fandom as well that his top billed project has schedule changed for her. Anyways, not sure if this is much ado about nothing with no change in casting or a new female lead will swan in before filming as these fandom demands are acceded to.
Isn’t this also because they don’t want her name before his accordingly to the new rules? I think I read about it on Reddit.
I want her to be casted so agency can say to fans “Hey! You don’t get to tell us what to do.” I cannot understand the mindset of parisocial fans. It baffels me. I know people are chosen in idol dramas more so off of streaming traffic numbers than actual talent which sucks!
It’s common for the cast to contain one actor with more popular than the other. The co-lead is often someone who is up-and-coming or respected but not popular.
They seemed to have forgotten that it wasn’t that long ago when he was the up-and-coming actor opposite Bai Lu and Esther Yu. Whatever you think of their acting, those two ladies were clearly a lot more popular than ZLH when he was casted as their co-star.
Fandoms acting like terrible, irrational drama mother-in-laws. I hope they get someone they want even less.
Too petty for their own good 😬. He is okay but not that grand for all of this. Any actress then would be using him as a stepping stone then lol 🙄
Praying that Lu Yuxiao would not be associated with this drama. May ZLH’s fans get a worse actress so they’ll learn their lesson (probably not, they never learn).
lol his fans are SUPER toxic. imagine being this snobbish and uppity when their own idol is still mediocre actor after so many years, and still needs his FL to hardcarry him. I like LYX and want her to get the role to spite her fans, but i don’t think the drama will do super well, cos she’s not a very strong lead herself.
I think ZLH and LYX will look cute together. I hope it’s a good drama and wish ZLH and LYX good luck!
