An upcoming Tencent big budget period C-drama is starting to make chatter in the casting circles as it’s one of the few S+ budget projects on deck right now. It’s titled Hu Shan Wei (胡善围) and is adapted from a novel about a female lead whose fiancee dies and rather than get forced into marriages goes into court to study to become a historian. There she encounters political conspiracies that she resolves while also impressing the royal family and court with her smarts and resilience. Apparently this is THE drama that the top 95-line of actresses all want and right now word on the street is Tencent is in early talks with Song Zu Er for this drama. I can see her playing this role for sure and sadly but for Zhao Lu Si‘s current situation she would also be an actress I would love to see in this drama.
