New Posters and Preview of Tian Xi Wei Girlbossing Her Way Up in Dual Identity Role Opposite Yan An in Youku Period C-drama Where the Mask Ends
Word on the street is that Youku will air period C-drama Where the Mask Ends (嫁金钗 Jia Jin Zhai)next month in October 2026, so let’s get ready for hopefully good drama to come. Starring Tian Xi Wei in a dual female lead role as the headliner, it’s her chance to really breakout solely for her own acting and ability to deliver viewers, since her last drama Pursuit of Jade ended up giving way more boost to her costar Zhang Ling He. Here she gets a male lead in Yan An who has been promising in his second male lead roles so far and likely won’t overshadow or steal her big female lead role thunder but still deliver the necessary hot male lead visuals to complement. The latest posters and preview continue to look right up my alley, I love the vibrant colors and high energy feel of this drama. If this was a makjang K-drama I’d expect a lot of hair pulling and bitch slapping onscreen lol.
Preview for Where the Mask Ends:
TXW looks fabulous in costume! I know nothing about the ML. Hopefully he’s not there just for eye candy. lol
ZLH was almost there for the eye candy. He’s not a good actor but he didn’t stop POJ from being a success, right? Hahaha.
She’s so good! And he’s very pretty! Lol. Haven’t watched anything since Pursuit of Jade. The acting is already going to be decent, so pleeeeease at least have a logical story with connected plot points!
She’s a really good actress and it’s a shame she was overshadowed by ZLH in POJ. I loved them both, but she deserves to shine as the main headliner. Looking forward to this drama!
Like many C-drama stars, Zhang Linghe has already proven again that he is an actor who depends on the director’s help. He was fine in POJ. But in Overdo, he looked bored. LOL. I don’t trust actors like him, they are inconsistent.
The trailer looks good compared to the promos vid they released earlier. This is definitely in my alley so I’ll check it out when it airs.
Excited for her to tear it up on screen! I’m sort of glad that she isn’t breaking out into super idol fame where she would get hate for even breathing wrong. Thought not as famous as her peers, her filmography is not worse off than theirs. I love seeing her take on varied roles.
The Chinese biz industry is cruel. I’ve been surprised to find good actors stuck in supporting roles (like Qin Tian Yu) or not working for years.😅
Everyone will squeeze their moment of fame once obtained, and I really can’t blame them.
