Word on the street is that Youku will air period C-drama Where the Mask Ends (嫁金钗 Jia Jin Zhai)next month in October 2026, so let’s get ready for hopefully good drama to come. Starring Tian Xi Wei in a dual female lead role as the headliner, it’s her chance to really breakout solely for her own acting and ability to deliver viewers, since her last drama Pursuit of Jade ended up giving way more boost to her costar Zhang Ling He. Here she gets a male lead in Yan An who has been promising in his second male lead roles so far and likely won’t overshadow or steal her big female lead role thunder but still deliver the necessary hot male lead visuals to complement. The latest posters and preview continue to look right up my alley, I love the vibrant colors and high energy feel of this drama. If this was a makjang K-drama I’d expect a lot of hair pulling and bitch slapping onscreen lol.
