Streaming platform Apple TV is a still a newbie in stepping into the K-drama realm so it’ll be interesting to see if the company promotes upcoming Koreans in Japan multigenerational drama/series Pachinko. Netflix has the process down to a science at this point having launched over a dozen self-produced K-dramas in the last two years but Apple TV is starting off with a really prestige high profile project with this multi-cultural and multi-lingual show adapted from the same name award winning novel. It’s also got veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung playing the family matriarch and she’s coming off last year’s win at the Oscar’s for Best Supporting Actress. The cast includes popular Hallyu actor Lee Min Ho, Korean-American actor Jin Ha, and newcomer Kim Min Ha and child actress Jeon Yu Na. The five are starting the Pachinko promo circuit as this week the cast posed pictures and did an interview with fashion and entertainment magazine Bazaar.
