Scent of a Woman with Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Wook Releases First Trailer

While July isn’t as chock-a-block with new K-drama premieres as May was, there are nevertheless quite a few new dramas I’m interested in checking out. One of them is the Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Wook vehicle Scent of a Woman. I’m not sure what to expect, and even if I’ll like the story itself, what with the terminal illness and Last Holiday vibes based on the plot synopsis alone.

The first trailer has been released and my first impression is that the drama seems so pretty, whimsical and vibrant. Everyone also looks ridiculously gorgeous. This will be one easy-on-the-eyes drama for sure. I always thought that this drama coincidentally shared the same title as the Al Pacino flick, but now it looks like it’s paying homage to the classic by using “Por Una Cabeza” in the trailer and having a picture of two people dancing the tango.

Scent of a Woman with Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Wook Releases First Trailer — 27 Comments

  1. Thanks for sharing, can’t wait for the drama, hopefully the ending will be good even if she has to die, loved LDW in Bittersweet life and he always have great chemistry with his leading lady.

    • If you are talking about the main actor…No, he is Lee Dong Wook. He was in My Girl, Bittersweet life (dramas), and in Perfect romance and heartbreak library(movies). he just got back from his military service! yay!!

  2. I can’t wait to see this..miss KSA terribly since City Hall. Yes,the plotline is a bit trite(the good old kdrama’s someone-is-dying-w/something-terminal theme),but hey,if it’s like Queen Latifah(whom I adore)’s Last Holiday then yummm. Also,it will be the first drama w/LDW for me,so another “Yay” 🙂

  3. definitely watching this… very intriguing to know that this is a rom com yet KSA was supposed to have an incurable disease and might fie at the end… hmmmm

  4. At first I wasn’t sure how they can make it a rom-com (as how they’ve been marketing this drama) but the first trailer did give me a pleasant and refreshing surprise in its tone and execution.
Hope to see further trailers soon, giving me more confidence that this will be another great drama for KSA.
I’m so looking forward to Sun Ah’s new drama!! Glad to have another beautiful-to-the-eyes drama after CYHMH!

    • ah ya!! CYHMH the best drama for 2011. all the best actors are all in that drama toobad it ends already. well at least we have something to look forward too, naming KIM Suh na. one of my many favorites leading lady.

      • I don’t know why CYHMH can be capable of giving me so much warmth just by watching it. While I can’t say it’s the best drama in 2011 (still half a year to go), it did give me a very special journey to travel along. It will definitely have a special place in my heart.

  5. This drama story plot is the same like Queen Latifah movie with the title “Last Holiday” (2006 film). Will be interesting to see this drama…

  6. Ok really I have certain logline in my Head it’s like scent of a man on the nose of a woman….hmmmm yup crazy me….. yah know what they next to crazy is genuis ahaha…. but i haven’t even got to totally crazy yet….hope not 😉

  7. I really want to watch this, chingu! 🙂

Btw, the music may be an hommage to the Al Pacino movie. Thing is, that movie was a remake of an Italian movie (Profumo di donna) with Vittorio Gassman directed by Dino Risi in uh 1974. And Risi’s movie is based on a novel by Giovanni Arpino, a journalist. Just an FYI.

  8. KIM SUNAH *^^* Kooooo!!! This is d love-call ,ala CityHall!!
You’re a mite too skinny for yr tall-ish figure but I still adore U ! Fwighting!!

  9. Love, love, LOVE Kim Sun Ah! But whatever she had done is distracting me! I thought she was very pretty to begin with. One of the best things about her is her facial expressions. Hope this doesn’t change anything.

  10. I know this is off topic, but I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to City Hall. I was browsing around and saw your reference. Also, you gave it a very high rating. I finally watched it and OMG…I think I died, went to heaven and came back. How could I have missed this one back in 2009? I am so disappointed in myself.

Anyway, City Hall totally made my week and I have became a HUGE fan of Cha Seung Won. I have always loved Kim Sun Ah.

    • Yay, a brand spanking new City Haller! Welcome to the club. You join and am a member for life. The drama is just marvelous from beginning to end. And each re-watch gets better when you catch all the little details and references.
