Joe Cheng Takes a Break from the Military to Attend Movie Premiere

Oh holy mother of a hot potato – Joe Cheng went into the military a pretty boy and took a break from securing the maritime borders of the island of Formosa to attend a movie premiere and show us all that he’s a man’s man now. This weekend during Joe’s scheduled weekend off from military service, he drove down to Kaohsiung to attend the film festival there for the premiere of his upcoming period movie Ripples of Desire. Co-starring Michelle Chen, Ivy Chen, and Jerry Yan, only Joe and Michelle attended this premiere and they also play a couple in the movie. Joe and Michelle took a yacht to the premiere party and totally dressed the part of A-list movie stars as they walked arm-in-arm to greet the attendees and do a question-and-answer session. This isn’t the first time Joe and Michelle have worked together, she played his fiancée in Channel X and I have to admit they had great chemistry. I’m not sure about the movie based on the trailer, though I felt that Ivy was stealing the show in both her character and performance. It’s great to see Joe take a breather from all his manly duties, which his good friend Mike He commented on this weekend when he was doing a publicity event for one of his endorsement deals. He called Joe a real “top gun” after seeing the picture of Joe holding an automatic weapon while guarding a cache of smuggled tobacco. After seeing Joe whipped into shape in just 3 months, I remain convinced that its actually good for the male celebs to serve their duty willingly and happily.
