Kim Bum Holds Fan Meeting and Mini-Concert in Tokyo

You know, I can’t say I saw this coming or that I think it’s even a good idea. Kim Bum, one of the few young K-actors who got his start solely as an child actor rather than as an idol (that group also includes Kim Soo Hyun, Yoo Seung Ho, Jang Geun Seok) is trying out singing for a change by releasing a mini-album in Japan this past June. I don’t know why the obasans would even want to see Bummie sing since he’s been doing perfectly fine as an actor. I suppose there is some visual enjoyment to be had seeing him singing onstage, as he did last week when he held his fan meeting/mini concert in Tokyo in front of thousands of adoring fans. I’m just happy at how healthy and cheeky he’s looking recently. Kim Soo Hyun was competent when he sang for Dream High but hasn’t tried to actually launch a side career in singing, while Jang Geun Seok has a good voice but wonky pitch and still managed to sing in You’re Beautiful and Mary Stayed Out All Night then launched a rather successful singing career in Japan. Bummie played a musician in Still Marry Me (The Woman Who Wants to Get Married) but I recall being mesmerized by his silver hair and devotion to wooing his noona in Park Jin Hee while finding his singing forgettable at most. I suppose if there is an audience then he might as well go for it. After wrapping up the event Bummie jetted right back to Seoul to return to filming That Winter, The Wind Blows with Song Hye Kyo and Jo In Sung. Now that I’m really looking forward to seeing.

  1. Now he looks much better with some meat in his cheeks. I thought he was skinny in Padam Padam.
I thought he is an ok singer actually, not great but pleasant to the ears.
In fact, I love the song “I’m Going To Meet You Now” that he sang for the F4 Special Edition Album. I had it on replay constantly when it first came out.

  2. He’s not bad, but not really good. Cute though. Some actors shouldn’t sing, though I guess some singers shouldn’t act either.

  3. I literally cannot wait for that winter, the wind blows. I’m just in luvvvvvvvv with Jo In Sung. I find him insanely gorgeous. And he can ACT! I also find Kim Bum sweet.
When is TWTB coming out? Anyone knows?

    • I will check the drama out for him too:)
@sogazelle per info I’ve read at soompi the drama will air sometime in Feb. 2013 (not sure on the exact date.

  4. I’m sure it’s all about ¥¥¥¥ which is a lot stronger than Korean won(and US $$$ as well.)

Good for our cutie pie. He’s making obasans happy and himself. I’m not his fan but if it’s Micky Yuchun, I’d be that obasan begging everyone to spare me an extra concert ticket on internet fan sites(been there, done that.)
