Jung Woo Sung and Shin Hyun Bin in Talks for K-drama Remake of 1990’s Classic Era Romance J-dorama Say You Love Me
Wow, talk about a walk down memory lane. K-ent has reported that a K-drama remake of 1995 J-dorama Say You Love Me (Aishiteiru to Ittekure) is in the works, a dorama that was one of those mega hits that famed screenwriter Kitagawa Eriko churned out in that era also including Asunaro Hakusho, Long Vacation, Love Story, A Million Stars From the Sky, Orange Days, and many more. I never thought K-dramas would reach that far back, and if it did it would be in the 2000’s decade such as 2005 when Spring Day came out which was a remake of Heaven’s Coins (Hoshi no Kinka). So back to Say You Love Me, the remake has offers out to Jung Woo Sung to play the male lead, a deaf painter, with Shin Hyun Bin as the female lead who is an actress. The leads age gap is intentional as the original had then veteran Toyokawa Etsushi paired with early days Tokiwa Takako. I do love me a slow burn idealistic love story so if K-drama land wants to remake Say You Love Me for this current gen then I’m along for the nostalgia ride.

Is that really Hospital Playlist Shin Hyun Bin’s photo? It doesn’t seem like it’s her.
HP really did wonders to her career, she and MGY seems to be getting all the offers nowadays.
A Mismatch visually.
Agree – Jung Woo Sung the Adonis vs yeah SHB not a good pick imo but who knows their chemistry could be explosive. Plus JWS won’t be talking so a lot of facial expressions and gestures on his part. So if we can’t hear his voice at least give us a visually stunning actress lol.
man Shun Hyun Bin never rest, lol. from Montrous, The conglomerate to this?
Monstrous was only 6 episodes (and hugely disappointing) and SHB’s role in that chaebol drama is small, so she has plenty of time.
Given the synopsis that sounds like a traditional tearjerker melo, both actors look the part to me.
KSR drunk driving and tried to run away. Does she think she’s in America?
I was wondering who is KSR then realized it’s former child star Kim Sae Ron.
She’s only 21.I wish she hired a driver or called her manager instead of driving herself.
Wow, good for her!
By the way, who are the writer and director for this remake?
I love Jung Woo Sung in A Moment to Remember (his character reminds me of Liberation Notes’ Mr.Gu without the gangster connection) so I hope he’ll do a melo/romance project but please let it be a different actress as the female lead. If they’ll pair somebody with Jung Woo Sung I feel like she needs that WOW factor.Just my opinion
I don’t know, but nothing excites me about Shin Hyun Been. I don’t feel the charisma. Her acting and looks kinda bland to me. Yeah I do hope it will be a different actress.
