Stills and More Stills for Upcoming KBS Mon-Tues Investigative Drama Minamdang with Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo

Well Bloody Heart (Red Single Heart) is now officially a bloody underwhelming entry into the sageuk drama oeuvre, it may end up being a good drama overall but ratings and reception wise it’s a downer for KBS. The network will switch gears in the time slot next with Minamdang premiering at the end of June, a quirky sounding investigative drama with Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo based on the same name web novel. It tells of a criminal profiler turned fortune telling shyster but somehow still a problem solver, matching wits and solving crimes with a tough female detective. The supporting cast includes Kwak Si Yang, Kang Mina, and Kwon Soo Hyun with the PD of Player and the screenwriter of Ruler: Master of the Mask. This drama seems underrated so far in pre-release buzz which makes for hopefully a pleasant surprise from low expectations.

Where are Kwak Si Yang’s stills??? I had a crush on him since Oh My Ghostess. He was so aegyo in his poses. I rather this drama have no buzz and then thoroughly surprise us. June 27th please come faster.

About Red Heart being a disappointment for KBS. Not surprising to me — I dropped it after the first episode. I decided to watch Lee Joon’s wonderful performance in Heard It Through the Grapevine again instead.

kbs can’t compete with sbs, jtbc and tvn in decent ratings. MLN ended 6.7% AML 10.5%, OB latest 11.8%. Only weekend dramas save kbs.
