The Seoul International Drama Awards felt so random when it launched as it combined both K-dramas and foreign television shows from various countries. It’s settled into a routine but still feels like a popularity contest even more than other awards shows. This year’s ceremony will be on September 22nd but some local K-ent winners were announced. Kim Nam Gil and Jeon So Min were selected the Representative Korean Representative Award winners for the Actor and Actress categories. For the Hallyu Drama Acting awards, the winners were chosen solely by online public voting. The Hallyu K-drama Best Actor Award will be Kim Sun Ho in Hometown Cha Cha Cha and the Hallyu K-drama Best Actress Award goes to Jisoo for Snowdrop. These two picks make me chuckle, one isn’t even talked about anymore and the other can win the “not as bad as expected” category is there is such.
