Oh man, these two were impossibly cute together and a reunion would be must check out for all drama lovers. C-ent casting gossip is saying that Dylan Wang and Shen Yue of Meteor Garden 2018 OTP fame have been casting 2023 xianxia C-drama Sea of Flowers (Chinese title Yue Du Hua Luo 月都花落 Moon Capital Falling Flowers). It’s a xianxia novel using the Classic of Mountain and Seas as the underlying inspiration with the romance of the God of the Sea and littlest Princess of the Capital City of Yue. The novel was published in 2014 and is just now getting a live-action adaptation and makes me want to check it out. Hopefully by the time the drama airs I’ll have gotten around to reading it heh, it’s been hard to find time to read as much as I used to. I never finished MG18 despite loving these two as the leads in those iconic characters since I think this would be my 4th MG drama and at some point it’s been there done that one too many times. But a fresh xianxia drama with these two could be the perfect next step.

Too fake, Shen Yue has never done ancient dramas much less xianxia and her visuals don’t really suit those genres. If they pair up itll be a A tier drama at best, advertisers wont invest unless it’s some kind of comedy and how many xianxia comedies have you seen?
Shen Yue is actually perfect for the roles of the innocent cute female leads that are in every xanxia and maybe even the cute bratty roles. I’d put Ariel Lin’s visuals in the same category with a more cute face than beautiful, and yet I really like Ariel in both modern day and costume dramas.
If she is perfect to play the role of fairies or immortals, why hasnt she done it? Are investors and directors so blind to choose almost every other actress that auditions except her? Or do you think she doesn’t audition for such roles? Obviously she auditioned for xianxia and historical dramas and failed…. Shes not the only one, Zhang Jingyi has never done ancient or xianxia roles too. It’s not like they don’t audition, they just didnt get picked for good reasons. Someone like you surely knows better than people who direct or invest in these multimillion dollar projects though…

I don’t get why are you so angry? If she hasn’t done it then it means she doesn’t want to. Shen Yue is one of the few actresses to get lead roles out of the gate so I think she has good resources. For reasons her team doesn’t want her to do xanxia which is pretty easy to land for new actors, how good the role is and high budget the production is a different story. I personally think she can be great in the cliche trope female lead roles. Someone like you needs to calm down.

nobody’s mad but the rumor is fake. They are not collaborating and Shen Yue is not rumoured to be doing a xianxia soon even if this kind of dumb rumor brings clicks to blogs or excites delusional shippers. I really don’t know where Koala gets all this melons from, even the fake melons on Douban are not so ridiculous. Foreign readers will believe anything.

Ooof. A lot of you don’t realize that they’re just friends. Yes, they have excellent chemistry and they look great together. But, that’s just it. There’s nothing between them romantically.
I’m a big shipper of their characters in MG2018, and I’d love to see them in another drama…. But while they might not be doing any dramas together, it doesn’t mean they’re never gonna work together again. They’ve already been in a few shows and specials and from what I’ve seen and heard, they still have good chemistry.
Personally, I wanna see more of her and her co star from Mr. Bad they worked well together too.
