The quality and ergo the success of jTBC drama Reborn Rich (The Chaebol’s Youngest Son) is another validation that it’s not K-drama quality that has been decreasing is that not enough production teams dig deep to create the needed excellence. Song Joong Ki was in Singapore yesterday attending the streaming channel VIU’s press conference for the release of Reborn Rich there and he shared his reasons for picking this drama. One was the screenwriter who adapted the source novel was a newbie who met Song Joong Ki when he was also a newbie on the set of Sungkyunkwan Scandal so Song Joong Ki trusts him and believed in this drama. The second was of course Lee Sung Min, who Song Joong Ki calls the Korean Al Pacino, once Lee Sung Min signed on Song Joong Ki also accepted for the chance to work with him. These two actors are unique and talented in their own ways and I’m thrilled so share this excellent Elle Korea pictorial of them framed against the backdrop of a traditional Korean style home.
The rating decreased 16-17%.Argh really hope RR will surpass twom but its hard because the drama going dowhill know.Shin hyun been scene distracing not important.Doesnt need love line because her acting and visual just meh just like what the fuck she doing in this drama.
Idc about visuals, but I thought I was the only one who doesn’t like her acting, even in Hospital Playlist where drama twt kept praising her. She doesn’t have that on-screen charisma either.
I’m glad that I’m not the only one feeling this way too. The unnecessary forced loveline between SJK & SHB’s characters is distracting and ruining the flow of the storyline.They don’t even have chemistry at all. No wonder the ratings are slightly dipping down.
The rating went up again to 21.1% even with more love lines. Hahaha…there are a lot of new dramas on Friday

It’s great to see a character actor like Lee Sung-min front and center in a drama with crazy high ratings & media buzz. Actually I don’t think Reborn Rich lives up to the hype, but don’t tell him I said so.
I think it’s a fantastic show. Things are hotting up now that SJKs character isn’t getting his own way. 0nce the series is finished I’m going to binge watch it.

Agree with others that I love seeing a veteran and character like Lee Sung Min getting a lot of focus in promotion. I’m glad that JTBC were smart enough to realise he is the draw. He deserves it! He is phenomenal in this drama.
Personally I feel Kdrama has not been good (as in addictive) for a while. Penthouse was addictive but kind of nonsensical. There were very few good ones in recent years unlike Reborn Rich. Is always the story that’s important. Hopefully it will continue to capture audiences for the 2nd half.
LSM is absolutely killing it playing this complex character and 20+ years older than him irl as well. He’s definitely bagging Baeksang Arts daesang next year, and it’s absolutely deserved.
