Song Hye Kyo Plays the Long Revenge Game and All Her Awful Enemies Look Totally Worth Her Vengeance in Long Preview for Netflix Drama The Glory

School bullying in South Korea has been discussed at length both in real life investigations and fictionalized often in dramas and movies to highlight the pervasive issue. Upcoming Netflix drama The Glory puts it front and center as female lead Song Hye Kyo plots a long revenge course solely due to her school bullying in high school days. The long preview just released give snippets about how awful seeming her now adult tormenters are and must’ve been to her even in their youth. Rich and casually cruel people don’t change as they age that’s for sure. I love this dark and twisty preview, this drama will really be a showcase of Song Hye Kyo and if she can carry the entirety of her vengeance plan it will definitely prove her improved acting ability.

  1. Weak Class Hero 1 is a phenomenal (short but sweet) drama that centers around school bullying and violence. It is quite heavy overall and the fighting can be exaggerated and very intense because it is based on a webtoon but it’s one of my favorites this year and IMO, one of the best dramas of not just 2022 but the last few years. Every single cast member put their all into it, the acting of the male lead in particular was phenomenal, he blew me away. It will stay with me for a long time.

Looking at SHK’s expressions in these promos, I’m just not convinced by what she’s selling in the trailer and media promos. I’m rooting for her to reach deep down, get gutteral when needed, completely throw out the notion of looking “pretty” for the camera and give the performance of her life. This drama could be a great vehicle for that. Hope it’s a good one.

    • @deb , Weak Class hero 1 is a drama that i highly recommend . The cast did a great job and the lead was graet . what i like is that they show us the complexity around all this violence . And the fact that some victims can become bullyers too . That sometimes, if a few of persons don’t look the other way, they can break at least one chain of bullying .

      • I didn’t really like it. It was juste pure violence without really meaning. They spent their time to fight. There were almost no adult or of course bad ones. It’s kinda frustrating this kind of drama, it’s always the same story again and again…

  2. Not going to lie; I had no expectations after SHK’s wooden acting in her last few projects but the teasers for this are actually good. It appears the director has finally got her out of her comfort zone. I haven’t seen her act with this many expressions in years!

  3. The content may be good but shk as actress to me is doubtful. Has always been mediocre. So now the in topic is revenge drama. So zombies taking a backseat for a while.

  4. Ok, this looks promising. She’s not trying to always look pretty or younger in the shots, unlike in her previous dramas. I can actually see frown lines on her face, which is great. Good decision to lay off botox for 6 months or so. I’ll be checking this out.

    • U should watch the drama cz u r one of them I meant a bully who roams around talking bad stuffs like don’t u have any other things to do

  5. This is not only new for SHK, it’s also entirely different from what Kim Eun Sook usually writes. Honestly, that’s way more questionable to me vs SHK’s acting. She should be able to pull it off, but I’m not confident the story and script will hold up. Her last drama was simply bottom of the barrel.

  6. I just want to watch this for bitch slap and karma.
Revenge is best when it satisfying, I just hope this is satisfying, even if it’s corny, I just want to see bad people go down

  7. If that is already her best acting in the trailer, it’s not much of an improvement. From zero expressions to 2-3 in the trailer isn’t raising the bar much.
