Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun Straddle Darkness and Light in Striking New Netflix Promo Stills for Revenge Drama The Glory

As The Glory gets closer to its premiere next week I get more and more curious about the plot. Revenge is a dish best served cold and this drama premise mirroring the long con/plan like Old Boy is chill inducing that a teenager would be able to go nearly two decades and structure her life to set this revenge in motion. What happened to her back then? How mentally and emotionally messed up is she now? Will audiences root for her anti-hero ways even if innocents are collateral damage? Leads Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun are featured by Netflix in new promo stills that are spare and a bit unrelenting, nothing “pretty” about this, just two stars conveying their characters inner darkness and hopefully some light.

  1. Lee do hyun is a good actor but his choice of dramas are all questionable it is like he has a fetish for older women or something.. It is like the only thing he checks in a script is who is the actress?
As for song, I hope this works for her bcos I think this will be her last chance in a mega budget drama

    • LOOOLLLLLL about LDH’s fetish! LDH is probably one of the best actors in his age group too so I don’t understand know why he is pigeonholing himself into these roles.

This drama looks more interesting than anything SHK has acted in years at least.

    • Could be his agency steering him towards certain roles. He doesn’t have a huge filmography yet and he also did Youth of May with his similar-age Sweet Home co-star (who played his little sis in Sweet Home)

His agency may think it’s a good move to get his name out there. And these pairings exist because top male actors in their 30s tend to shift to more movies or dramas without a female lead – just meatier roles where they can be the star. And top female actors don’t get those movie roles and also want be the headlining name.

Also divisive as Kim Eun Sook’s work is among the international drama-watching community, she has a track record for bringing in ratings. Her last drama was a flop compared to her previous dramas, but the ratings were still on the high side. So LDH getting this role in Glory is a win, especially when KES have reused actors before. The networking opportunity is worth it.

    • Considering that almost all his series are good, if not best, it’s obvious that Lee Do Hyun is more concerned on the script/storyline rather than who’s the actress he’ll work with. But I don’t blame you for thinking that way because that’s your perception and your way of thinking. But there are others who thought him to be very versatile, that no matter whom he will be partnered with, younger or older women, he is still capable of portraying the character he is given with.

  2. I hope this works for Song Hye Kyo. Although I would have preferred that Netflix release all episodes in one go instead of two tranches because viewers will lose momentum. Like what happened in money heist korea, i lost interest in watching the 2nd half even i like the first half of heist
