I feel like Netflix drama The Glory is an experimental test cast in many ways, from writer Kim Eun Sook deviating from her comfort zone to leading lady Song Hye Kyo putting acting above visuals to now even the format of the drama. It’s split into two parts, with the first part released on December 31st with 8-episodes and now a confirmed date for the second part coming March 10th also with 8-episodes. If this was a terrestrial drama then it would be your standard 16-episode fare but airing on Netflix the decision was made to split it and it’s not getting good feedback from K-netizens. It ends on what viewers expect to get a quick next hit of story but its not coming for three months so that sucks. It’s a part 2 rather than a season 2 so the ending moment doesn’t wrap up an arc so much as leave it mid-air. That every little thing about this drama is getting write ups and netizen commentary is ultimately a success and hopefully part 2 brings this revenge plot to a satisfying conclusion come March.

Song hye hyo reinventing herself and keeping herself at too even after 23 years. She doesn't need money. She can live on real estate and investments alone. Also I liked she isn't hiding her age. High time we accept women in their 40s looking their age. And hope she doesn't go to rom coms. Romance show with mature concepts can happen though. Queen
While viewers may keep voicing their frustration at the decision to split the show, I wonder if this may ultimately pay off for Netflix. Would these same viewers binge rewatch the first 8 episodes prior to the March 10th release of the remaining episodes? Would this help raise viewership and prolong Netflix subscription?
