C-ent Casting Rumor has Bai Lu and Yang Yang for Period C-drama Adapted From Novel by the Same Author of The Legends, Love Between Fairy and Devil, and The Blue Whisper

So there is melon going around is the second major drama casting I’ve seen these two stars linked to, kinda feels like C-ent is determined to make it happen. Earlier this year Bai Lu and Yang Yang was rumored to star in Northward Bound but that didn’t pan out. Now there is talk that the two have been cast in the C-drama adaptation of the period romance novel Yu Jin Chang An (与晋长安) from the writer Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. Her other famous works adapted into dramas include Love Between Fairy and Devil, The Legends, The Blue Whisper, and coming soon The Legend of Shen Li. Imma stayed tuned to see if this one comes to fruition.

  1. Lol at the pairing cycle of the 90s-00 actor/actress. It’ll be a matter of time before Bai Lu makes her way to Huang Jing Yu or Wang He Di to Zhao Lu Si.
Honestly I haven’t seen Bai Lu in much and only liked/watched Arsenal Academy (sorry, I didn’t get to One and Only, not my cup of tea). And Yang Yang only works sometimes. He has been getting dragged through the mud for Fireworks of My Life so I am sure he’s eager to get on a good project to wiggle his way back to the audiences goodwill. It’ll be interesting to see how this flair.

    • Bai Lu has already worked with all three actors that you’ve mentioned hahah. She’s filmed an upcoming modern drama with WHE (Only for Love), she’s worked with HJY as a guest star in his drama “Ace Troops”. Her and ZLS have also starred in an older drama together, both with supporting roles called “Untouchable Lovers”.

      • What I meant was, with the 90s-00 actresses/actors cycling through pairings–ESPECIALLY Bai Lu and Zhao Lu Si–we’ll be getting Huang Jin Yu paired with Bai Lu (I was not aware they had already worked together) and Zhao Lu Si paired with Wang He Di in no time.

    • True for the 3 you mention. Only Reba took a long leave this year. She had alot of dramas out previous 2yrs. ZLS doesnt seem to stop picking up new projects. YZ was unfortunate her dramas got hit with scandals so Im happy for her that Lost You Forever finally aired and its doing well

  2. YES. I need YY in good project, after the mess of fomh. .he is still my top faves among those new rising c-actors

    • Obviously, FOMH is bad not just because of Yang Yang but I will say some of the criticism from fans are warranted. He just seems to always be SO aware/conscious of how he looks and he comes off as…stoic? It works in Love O2O and You are My Glory which I did enjoy both but had trouble finishing with the lack of story. I do like him so I wish he can expand his range.

      • true, fomh is mess overall, I dislike the plot the most, we are in 2023, but they still give us story about rich parents that doesnt approve the relationship of grown old adult, like cmon
though I also agree that song yan character and YY dont deliver well, even wcr also looks stiff tbh, both of them are pretty but dont match to their character

  3. Is there an English translation of the novel’s title? I enjoyed reading the translations of The Blue Whisper and Back to the Brink.

  4. To me, BL is one of the better actress of the younger generation and even better than the likes of Yangmi and TangYan for the older actresses. YangYang would be lucky to work w/ her given the awful performance of his leading lady for his latest drama.

  5. Did not imagine this 2 even with the carousel of pairing in C drama. YY seems to need a suitable character to do well. Alot of rumours of this and that pairing so wont know until actual announcement.

  6. Yangyang was great in Fireworks of my heart, it was his leading lady that was horrible! He pretty much had to carry the movie. They had zero chemistry, not for lack on yang yang’s part, but the leading female has zero range of emotion & just looked mentally unstable.

  7. I usually never comment on the internet but for Bai Lu, I will lol. Last year, I randomly found Arsenal Military Academy by chance and binge watched it. Before this, I wasn’t a fan of C-drama albeit I used to watch some of it long long time ago. I’m more into K-dramas btw. But AMA made me hooked and I’m so amazed with Bai Lu’s acting. After AMA, i slowly try to watch other recent C-dramas of different actors too.

Time skip to this year, I heard a lot of great things about Till The End of The Moon and it’s always trending on Twitter but I didn’t think much of it during the drama airing period since fantasy/Xianxia genre with a sad story weren’t my cup of tea at the time. Few weeks ago I finally give TTEOTM a try. Somehow, from the 1st episode until the final, I was forever grateful that I decided to watch it. The beautiful storyline plot, the casts chemistry, costumes and special effectsare beyond amazing. I love it! It’s simply the best. Never thought i would be a fan of this genre…And an official Bai Lu’s fans too!

Ever since then, I binged watch every single dramas Bai Lu has starred in. From Love Is Sweet, One & Only, Forever & Ever, The Legends, Overlords, Lucky’s First Love etc. and I’m craving for more. She’s a versatile actress that ables to pull off any kind of roles she played. I’m in awe. Whomever she got paired with, the chemistry is ALWAYS present and she successfully delivers her lines full of emotions. Sorry i got carried away and typed such a long paragraph hehe.

I also started to watch the variety show Keep Running for Bai Lu hahahaha. She’s a happy pill in a human form.

Btw I’m really looking forward to her upcoming dramas, Story of Kunning Palace (ft. Zhang Ling He), Only For Love (ft. Dylan Wang) & Northwards (ft. Ou Hao)
