A new development in finished period C-drama The Prisoner of Beauty is that the production company is thinking of changing the title along with earlier rumors that it’s prepping for a sudden air drop release. I don’t think it’s a wild possibility as for months industry insiders have been talking about this drama getting released come hell or high water because of the high production value and the fact that it’s all done filming and post-production. So it’s basically just air and try and recoup cost. Sadly the unknown situation of female lead Song Zu Er and her tax evasion scandal makes the situation murky but she hasn’t been charged officially so that’s why there is some wiggle room. The success of Liu Yu Ning‘s drama A Journey to Love makes this even more timely to release.
