  1. NGM is a very fine and charismatic actor but the drama is mehhhhh. Without reading the synopsis, I already told it was a copycat of Gone with the Wind that I love after watching the first half of ep 1. Specifically the FL was so obvious copying Vivien Leigh. Ok, it’s fine you could have another adaptation but could you be more creative by having your own personality and creating your own charm on screen? The drama just feels so odd with all the atmosphere reminiscent of southern US (in particular state of Georgia in the original novel) in the American civil era but in hanbok. LMAO

  2. Hands down, best Kdrama of 2023. Sure, its a mix of Gone with the Wind and Pride and Prejudice but both those classics I have loved so I ain’t complaining! The main couple was beautiful together and dialogue delivery was exceptional! The cinematography was also great! I loved everything about this show because ML was the epitome of all MLs for me. His love and dedication to FL was too epic. NGM was so good in this role, his stares, his voice, his actions…still can’t get over it. I was introduced to AEJ while watching this and I can see how talented she is in this drama. Her character develop was great. Don’t get me started on the music…insanely enchanting. I don’t think any kdrama right now can replace what My Dearest has achieved, for me at least.

  3. Hum… the first part was really good, the second one was a disaster!

For me, they were one of the worst couple. They spent 20 episodes to lie and hurt each other.

Even makjangs don’t put 2 amnesias plot for the same character…

    • @Sayaris, LOL, don’t give new ideas to makjang ‘s screenwriters, they should be able to start to put not 2 but 3 amnesias plot for the same character !

  4. I really loved My Dearest! I think many people gave up
too early. Yes, it was inspired by Gone with the Wind when it started but it took a different turn. NMG and AEJ were exceptional and totally deserving, along with the rest of the cast. The oppression by the Qing dynasty and the social commentary on gender roles was painful to watch.

  5. People saying this drama is a copy of Gone with The Winf must have not watched the drama at all cos there’s nothing similar.
NGM And AEJ have the best chemistry among all kdramas I’ve watched and their love story is so beautiful. Truly masterpiece of 2023

    • The drama is inspired by Gone With the Wind. Saying it’s not similar is ignoring the fact the writer herself told she took inspiration in this novel…

There are plenty of commun things : characters, war, helping giving birth, etc.

  6. It was my favourite drama of 2023 followed by Dr Romantic 3 but that’s bec I love those characters. It’s been a while since I binge watched a drama like this. I am aware of the flaws but the NGM was the ML to rule them all and he was acting and then some. The main couple had fantastic chemistry and the music was incredible. I just wish the ending was better. Overall though I was invested all the way through.

  7. The drama may be inspired by Gone with the wind but I don’t feel the similarity at all except for the war background.
Namkoongmin and Ahn Eunjin acting and chemistry are out of this world. They deserve all the awards or maybe more to come
