Colleagues and Fans Pay Tribute to K-actor Lee Seon Kyun on March 2nd Which Would Have Been His 49th Birthday

It’s only been two months since the tragic passing of K-actor Lee Seon Kyun and another milestone has arrived. This weekend on March 2nd, 2024, it would have been his 49th birthday, and a year away from the major life celebration that would be 50 years old. His many industry colleagues and fans have posted remembrances of him on his birthday which warms my heart as the tragedy is still so fresh and the issues that led to his taking of his own life still yet unresolved. To say I wish he didn’t make that one irrevocable decision that day is glib, I am just so sad he cannot create more indelible performances for the world as one of the most talented actors of his generation. Happy birthday Lee Seon Kyun ahjusshi!

  1. What happened to him is really sad. My heart goes out to his family especially.

Lee Seon Kyun was a phenomenal actor. Such a great loss of talent. He seems to be genuinely loved by his friends and those who have worked with him.

I sincerely hope those who did him dirty would be brought to justice though I don’t hold much hope for it to happen. I know they would be some who would continue to slander him but let’s just take time to reflect on this tragedy and exercise some compassion.

After all, “To err is human, to forgive is divine”.

Rest In Peace, Lee Seon Kyun.

  2. Thank you for this tribute to a great actor.
I am crying looking at these pictures. The last work of his that I watched was Parasite. I will remember him happy on stage with the whole crew receiving the oscars. I was so proud of them and so happy for the director Mr Bong Joon, one of the greatest directors working today.
He was such a great actor. Mr Bong Joon Ho casting him is testament to that.
It’s just so heartbreaking I can’t breathe when I think of what those last days and hours must have been for him.

  4. I still think of him as he didn’t left us as it seems so unreal ! I felt the same way when Park Yong Ha and Jung da Bin commit suicide .

  5. It appears too much hypocrisy for me. K-ent should have some practical measures addressing cyberbully based upon rumors rather than acting sympathetic that can’t bring back his life. Nothing is changed and more victims will emerge in the foreseeable future.
