C-netizens Vote Liu Yu Ning and Yang Chao Yue as Actor and Actress the Other Gender’s Fandom Most Does Not Want Their Fave Star to Work With

So this is an interesting poll in C-ent where the fandoms of stars was asked which opposite sex star the fans most DO NOT want their fave to star with. So the fans of the actresses were voting on their most dislike to work with actor and the fans of the actors were voting on their most to-avoid actress. For the dudes the voting came out with one of these is not like the others in the top 4 vote getters lol, basically three out of four are all expected. Liu Yu Ning topped the list of the actor the actresses fandoms most do not want their actress to star with. That was followed by Wang Yibo in second place, Xiao Zhan in third place, and Deng Wei in fourth. The inclusion of Xiao Zhan is a surprise but I think it stems from how crazy his fandom is more than him being a difficult or scene-stealing costar. On the actresses side, the actors fandoms voted Yang Chao Yue as the actress they do not want their fave actor to work with, with Angelababy in second place and these two share the same reputation of being absolutely drop dead awful at acting so that seems to be the main reason.

C-netizens Vote Liu Yu Ning and Yang Chao Yue as Actor and Actress the Other Gender’s Fandom Most Does Not Want Their Fave Star to Work With — 46 Comments

  1. How did Deng Wei gain such a bad reputation? Was it because of the fanwars between his fandom and Yang Zi’s?

Imo I agree with No.1 and 2 list for actors. Especially for idol dramas since both are ugly to me. Disagree with No.3 as I don’t really care about fanwars, so naturally I don’t care about his crazy fandom.

I’d add Esther Yu to the list of actresses after AB and YCY.

  2. On one side, it’s because they might actually have acting talent that contributes to and strengthens a story. On the other, it’s because they are just a warm body with a decent face. Yeeks.

  3. Why LYN at the top? His acting is pretty good, his fandom isnt toxic, LYN is easy to work with. So why? Ist bcause of his so-called ‘ugly’ face?

    • Exactly why he could and has upstaged other actors and actresses before. (To anyone who wants to argue, yes, of course, this is my subjective opinion. Lol. You can have your own opinion.)

    • Isn’t it because of the scenes/screen time stealing allegations ? Apparently his team always make sure he has more screen time than his co-star or from what was originally contracted ? And how his teams heavily push him ? Just stating what I’ve read for him.

      • Oh my gosh, I forgot that narrative that was going around about him intentionally scene stealing. Lol. For my comment, I meant that he has real acting talent and often acts better than those who are casted in a production with him, men and women.

      • I’ve only watched him in one drama and he was the 3rd lead. They added so many scenes for him that there were entire episodes the main leads didn’t even appear. It didn’t help that his acting as the “bad” guy was so awful. Not sure if he improved but with his mediocre looks + bad PS + bad acting + screen time stealing, I would steer clear of him too.

      • Thats just a rumor. If hes so powerful, he would have arrange himself a male centric drama instead. Please rmb he came from a poor background and he was only a cook. He dont have that power and wealth

    • Unfortunately, bc of his “ugly” face. This is ironic bc when he was a singer, people say he rely on his face and no skills. Now that hes taking ML roles, hes ugly. This is sad. Youtubers are well liked in the west, but in China online influencers are considered lowest of low

      • @Euphoria, I will not say he ‘was’ a singer because he is still a singer…I do see him as a singer first then a actor. But as a singer…I thought his could be a actor…and now he is a actor. He is doing better then I though. He may be poor when he was young as street singer but now he is very well connected.

  4. I don’t think bad acting is the main problem here.
It’s the fandoms and the teams behind the stars causing trouble.
Fandoms of the stars are always at war with each other and the teams behind the stars use tactics against each other as well.

  5. YCY is always a flop in C-dramas. Who wants to be casted in a drama that’s a guaranteed flopper? I will be surprised if any investors will ever cast her. LYN is okay… is it because he is too tall? He gets good ratings both as supporting and as lead… he can sing, and seems to get along well with others.

  6. Koala listed the 4 highest-polling male actors, but only the 2 highest polling female actors. I’d love to know who scored 3rd and 4th

    • Yea I’m curious to see where Yang Zi and Zhao Lusi falls on this list because commenters on this site swear they and their teams/fandoms are the worst that no one wants to work with them. But I guess these cnetizen voters hate unwatchable acting more.

      • questioning Lusi and Yangzi. I already know which actress fandom u coming from lol

      • I’m curious to see where Esther Yu falls on the list since her voice is unbearable and her visuals don’t help either. LOL

  7. It’s a shame there’s all this drama over pairings. There are actors that I would love to see work together and in other cases reunite. The entitled fans just mess it up for all the viewers who could care less. After watching the first ep of Ace Troops, I would just love to see Bai Lu paired up in a drama with Xiao Zhan. She could always reunite with Luo Yunxi as far as I’m concerned. Even a Xu Kai reunion (I don’t care about their relationship rumors) would be great if they got the right project. Loved them in Arsenal Military Academy.

    • I’m with you. All this drama around drama castings (billings, fan wars, questionable financial rumors,…) is not only a disadvantage to parties involved, but also to us viewers. Sadly, some stirrers benefit from it and it generates buzz. So, it will continue.

I also loved Bai Lu and Xu Kai in AMA. Not as much in The Legends (the drama lost a lot of it appeal through its run). I would love to see them reunite in a good story. I’m not a fan of him and think she’s better at acting. He relies to much on his looks. Sometimes I wonder, if it depends more on the good story or on a match with a complementary lead lady to get him to shine as an actor. Totally subjective opinion based on how many dramas I didn’t finished with him.

    • After watching the scenes of Bai Lu with Xiao Zhan together in Ace Troops, I also hoped to have these two costar again as the OTP in a new drama. But BL has been so over exposed recently. She became very banal on screen. I don’t want her to costar with XZ anymore.

      • I have recently commented how I see Bai Lu more then my husband the last 2years… she is in Keep Running, repeated dramas and variety shows and interviews. I need a break from her…

  8. Xiao Zhan would probably be any Fandom’s number 1 choice if it weren’t for the crazy part of his own Fandom. Those guys are really ruining it for all of us. Such a good actor with these visuals is so rare, and we miss out on what could have been for all those nutcases.

Liu Yuning is unlucky enough to have some really crazy antis spreading silly rumors or proving how cuckoo they are by calling him ugly. He’s an OK actor, has an agreeable face coupled with a very sexy body height and seems to be getting along with his co-stars so he can act opposite my faves anytime,I will be happy (actually, he has and will again!).

I am neutral towards Yibo and Deng Wei. The first I have only watched in The Untamed and I thought he did fine there but haven’t watched him in anything else but Street Dance of China, where he shone – he changes completely when dancing. The only reason I wouldn’t want him with my fave is because he too has some really loony fans.

As for Deng Wei, I only watched him in Till the end of the moon and thought he was meh. But why hate him, I don’t know.

    • And Nena true to form, attacking XZ again.

It’s funny how XZ fans are nutcases according to you but in reality, they are the least sued fandom in cent.

The one fandom that is at the very top of that is Wang Yibo but oh look, you aren’t calling them nutcases. They are literally helping ruin his career, something you are all fond of attributing to XZ and his XFX, and to such a degree that he is a laughing stock in China right now.

From getting those HIV rumors focused on him, to attacking complete passers by en masse just because they dared to say a Thai celeb reminds them of Yibo to this complete fiasco for Paris fashion week. And this is just in the last ten days or so. Even Weibo is going on a deleting spree of their accounts now, not to mention law suits popping up on a daily basis.

But of course, you are “neutral” towards WYB and XZ fans are “nutcases”.

      • I am very curious…fandom can get sued? who will ultimately be responsible if it is successful? I never knew it is possible to sue fandom…

      • @HL

Individual WYB fans are getting sued. They are the most sued fans in cent and not just by XZ but by a whole bunch of people. From Zhao Liying to Gong Jun to Lay though XZ has the highest number of lawsuits against them. It’s almost every month now that you hear he won a few of these.

      • @Ehh, oh I see..it is the individuals themselves. I agree, a lots of those fans can be so nasty.. they need to be answerable to their own deeds.

      • @HL

Yes, the lawyers first approach the court and if there is enough evidence then the court instructs platforms like Weibo or Douban to provide real names behind IDs, at which point the court cases actually start. When convicted, as it’s a civil suit, it’s usually money (I have seen as high as 200k RMB) and a written apology. If they can’t pay, as was the case maybe a week ago with a WYB fan, they suffer real life consequences that are no joke. For example, legally can’t rent an apartment.

But his fans are completely out of control. Just in the last two weeks a whole bunch has again gotten in trouble and again it wasn’t just XZ, this time Wu Jing and Xu Kai too will be suing and I don’t know if there will be other consequences for their actions because Jenny (the Korean) would probably have a very difficult time legally following up as a foreigner but they did contact Weibo and authorities about WYB fans and their attacks on her.

That’s really nothing though if you go back years. They threatened to kill both Zhao Liying and her child. They broke into Lay’s (Zhang Yixing) dressing room during street dance of China looking for “incriminating things”. The things they did to XZ are simply too many to mention.

So why are XZ fans nutcases and nobody talks about this? Eh. Rhetorical question.

      • @Ehh, oh my goodness…that is beyond just being keyboard cowards…the fans even physically commit such acts. I am so glad such crazy fans are taken to court and be held accountable. I like Lay’s dancing and singing. And enjoyed Street Dance of China. I did not realised he went thru such incident.

I will not have much sympathy if I was the idols that sued. Everyone is responsible for their action.

      • I mean, data shows, XZ fans are considered 大众雷点, go to any game or anime or fandom supertopic and search up 大众雷点

      • @Euphoria

You should probably change your name before making comments here because you post both on Reddit and MDL like that and are literally on record that you hate Xiao Zhan. The amount of time you attacked the guy on both places is through the roof.

  9. Koala, I hope you can post a link to this poll so that we can see where this poll is from and the number of voters etc. Both Weibo and Douban polls are highly enclosed, certain weibo YXHs and Douban forum groups are controlled by specific fandoms. And I agree with @Vicki, who is the number 3 & 4 for the actresses?

  10. I am surprised Chen Zheyuan isn’t on this list with all the rumors of his team trying to take first billing at every chance they can get. This is based on what I read here, not that I believe Chen Zheyuan is a bad person.

Angelababy and Yang Chaoyue would definitely top my list if I was a legit fan of anyone.

  11. Oh wow, so where is Chen Zheyuan then? After all the fuss about poor thing.
These C-netizens online news many times sounds like clickbaits.

  12. Hehehee, I suddenly have a thought that they should cast this entire list of people in one drama and see how bad it can get hahaha. It’ll be utter chaos.

    • You forgot XZ has already thrown each of his peer miles behind. Don’t try to deny it. He’s the only one liuliang who successfully transitioned himself to non-diol dramas. I know you’ve been a XZ naysayer. Equally I don’t mind constantly remind you how much I dislike Esther Yu who can’t act and looks ugly too. LOL

    • @Coralie… the popcorn eating I would be doing watching that unfold! 😂

But in all seriousness, it’s too bad that Cent is especially so embroiled in billing fight and having to answer to so many investors / insane fans that the possibility of a project full of A listers both in popularity and acting prowess starring together doesn’t seem very possible. I wonder if there is a director and a script that could ever accomplish that feat in Cent.

      • @R For real, I would get front row seats just to see fanwars explode lol. Esp fun to see XZ’s army against other flammable fandoms and watch them burn.

  13. This poll is out of nowhere. Koala might have posted it as a clickbait since the recent traffic and comments on this site seem to cool down a bit. LOL.

Even the poll reflects some reality, so what? I’ve seen several negative polls about Xiao Zhan. It’s also very strange whenever XZ’s fame shot to the sky again thanks to his casting announcement of prominent projects or oversea activities such as the recent fashion week in Milan or Ralph Lauren event in Singapore, there were always negative hot searches about him on Chinese SM. But what then? XZ’s status in the industry continues to rise and now his popularity is still unbeatable. LOL. While the fandoms of actresses may not want their faves to costar with XZ (that I don’t believe is true in general), I don’t think their faves are on the same page with these fans though. LOL. Who don’t want to have more exposure through collabs with a hot actor?

    • Adding “LOL” after a rude comment doesn’t make it any less disrespectful. Koala Unni doesn’t need to bait anyone because she has a successful life outside of dramas.

      • It’s just my guess. Why can’t I laugh cos it’s amusing? LOL. Why is that a rude comment? It’s legit for a SM influencer or a blogger to desire more visitors, nothing to do with one’s profession outside the virtual life. It may be about ego. LOL.

When has “LOL” become a synonym of “disrespect?” LOL. We use it all the time among my buddies and close relatives cos life is oftentimes very amusing. LOL

  14. Liu YuNing as a singer used to be called “rely on his face.” The internet have memories if you don’t believe me. Now that hes finally taking a leading role, everyone calls him ugly. A lowly live streamer is romancing your goddess, boohoo. Mo Fan’s data is rlly good and LYN is afforable, and thats the hard truth.
