All Three Fox Spirit Matchmaker C-dramas Release New Posters and Previews as the First Installment Red Moon Pact Gears Up for Likely Summer 2024 Release

The Fox Spirit Matchmaker series is a big IP for streaming platform iQiyi and it’s almost done filming the third and final chapter and the first one finished two years ago isn’t even out yet. It will be soon though, as iQiyi initially slated Red Moon Pact (Yue Hong chapter) with Yang Mi and Gong Jun for next month in May but may push it into summer but that is likely the latest it will go. After that there is Love in Pavilion (Zhu Ye chapter) with Liu Shi Shi and Zhang Yun Long, and the third installment is called Sword and Beloved (Wang Quan chapter) with Cheng Yi and Li Yi Tong. iQiyi released new posters along with brand new trailers for each drama so check it out and see which one looks the most promising for you.

  1. Damn, this trilogy looks expensive. Love all the ladies so this is going to be a visual fest. Iqiyi should take one for the team and air the first and second consecutively in May against Joy of Life 2.

    • Don’t underestimate LSS her previous costume drama did really well too. Personally will watch all 3 anyway as there isn’t anyone I dislike.

    • Her xianxia drama with Ding Yuxi (which was produced by the same company as Fox Spirit Matchmaker series) flopped hard so investors demand her to be pulled out.

    • my guess is that YCY cannot act ?! All her dramas have flopped. LYT is a much better actress, but I will favor YM & GJ because of their visuals.

      • They both wished to work with each other again after meeting up in ‘Keep Running’
Li Yi Tong mentioned it in a variety show where she was guesting… despite collaborating in ‘Hero Legends’, she didn’t have many scenes and felt she wanted more. According to her own words, they’ve both admired each other a lot since the recording of the show and wanted to find another opportunity to work together (who would blame her? I’d kill to play alongside Cheng Yi too haha)

Third installment is definitely the one I’m most anticipating out of the 3 but I’ll probably watch the whole serie in the end.

      • No Wang YiXu found her while he was begging CY to act in it. She happens to be there and he had a good impression

  2. I’m excited for all 3 but mainly the second and third one. I like Yang Mi but her dramas in recent years were often a disappointment for me. I guess you can’t stay on top forever. She was so popular when her series with Mark Chao aired but now most of her series lack some spark to it. I don’t know how to describe it. Like I don’t feel like she loves acting as she used to. I could be wrong and it may be just how she always was. I feel this industry is all about luck. Having the right role and at the right time.

I’m excited for Li Yi Tong! I hope she will gain more recognition in her upcoming series.

    • I agree with you 100% on Yang Mi. I was a big fan of her and Mark Chao after TMPB. The last few years, I’ve felt like Yang Mi lost that spark in her acting…. it’s like as if her heart and soul isn’t in her acting like it was

    • I agree. I really like her but her recent dramas are not great. Her characters are boring and the ML I don’t feel any chemistry.

  3. I’m looking forward to the Love in Pavilion chapter the most. The acting and chemistry seems the most promising out of the 3.

Love Yang Mi and her costume. She looks gorgeous. however I find that her acting has been lacking in energy since her drama TMPB. Her eyes lost that spark she had…. can’t really explain it. Gong Jun isn’t a great actor

Cheng Yi is good. I haven’t seen much of Li YiTong. The chemistry seems lacking in the trailer

    • Not a fan of Yang Mi, but I admit it’s not her fault her dramas after TMOPB all flopped. I appreciate her honesty for not playing nasty PR. Good directors are nowhere to be found these days, it’s not only YM dramas that got downgraded, the whole industry is doing very poorly. The most annoying thing I couldn’t bear was the way Zhao Liying markets herself a good actress by tearing down on all her predecessors like Yang Mi, Liu Shi Shi, Tang Yan, and Liu Yifei. If I compare YM’s flopping dramas with ZLY’s flopping Princess Agents, Legend of Fei, Legend of Minglan, Legend of Shen Li, etc. hers are the top worst ever! Cause, usually they have no plot or storyline at all! The pacing are slow, UNACCEPTABLY SLOW, slow to the point after several episodes passed nothing even move! That’s not acceptable.
It’s crazy how she managed to market her stuff as “master pieces” and ridicule all actresses that have more experiences than her. So although I don’t like some of YM’s dramas, I can at least bear her and not feel irritated by her fans. She’s at least honest, if her works are good then they’re good, if they’re not good then at least she lets them be and don’t play nasty tricks.

      • Why do you have to bring ZLY into this. Not all ZLY dramas are great, but they are better than the ones Yang Mi did in the pass five years. It’s not that Yang Mi is a bad actress, but the drama she is in, the cast she is with are not buzzing. I dropped every single one of her dramas, and watched more of ZLY dramas. I don’t even look or care about the marketing. The new Fox Spirit Matchmaker drama looks good. I hope it turns out for her! Wish I think it will, it looks so expensive. People be hating on Gong Jun, I dont think he is that bad of an actor. He looks really good in period dramas!

  4. The second and third seems like story wise may be more captivating but the first just seems like they threw the most pretty people in one go. Like all I notice is the pretty but don’t feel that golden factor. Especially from the male lead in the first one. It looks like Yang Mi might carry that drama by herself. Not downing on the side characters guess we will see. Hope sooner than later been forever they announced these dramas were coming.

  5. The first one is very pretty, the whole cast is full of visuals. Third one also looks good. Second one looks a bit weak. I have to watch all three when aired to decide which one is the best 😉

  6. I know nothing about the series but only the 2nd is on my list. Haven’t been able to finish anything of Yang Mi since TMOPB and GJ doesn’t do anything for me. Never watch anything with leads from the 3rd chapter so no interest there for now.

Hoping LSS delivers like her the previous drama and that ZYL give me a good first impression. 😅

  7. It look expensive 😭🔥 did anyone know how much budget for this trilogi? LOL

It been a long time since i watch C-drama, so i Will try this when they air.

  8. I like the extended cast in no 1, but 2 and 3 look less fluffy and hence more interesting to me. Especially 2,although I have no idea who the ML is.

  9. Cant wait for the third part, I always enjoy Cheng Yi’s dramas, he is a very good Actor and I’m sure ‘Sword and Beloved’ will be another succesful and great dramas of him… really cant wait..

  10. Only interested in the first two because of Yangmi and LSS. I know absolutely nothing about LSS’s leading male actor but willing to give him a chance. Chengyi is insufferable and Liyitong is a charisma hole so no thanks.

    • LSS sure have her bout of toxic fans. Leave CY alone. We’re not Mo-fan, we can fight a certain top traffic fandom and we can fight you guys, too. Whos scared of who?

  11. I only know Wang Quan have the highest popularity 😎😎 Im betting on Wang Quan. CY, the actor Wang YiXu begged to act in Fox Spirit
