Big Budget Space Romance K-drama Where the Stars Gossip with Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Min Ho Confirm First Half of 2025 Airing on tvN Weekends

There is good news for fans of Gong Hyo Jin and/or Lee Min Ho, their long finished space romance drama Where the Stars Gossip (Ask the Stars) has a confirmed airing network and time slot. The drama will air sometime in the first half of 2025 on tvN in the weekend Sat-Sun period. This makes the most sense for the drama with an astronomical budget thanks to cast salaries and the whole space setting requiring special sets built and likely a lot of CGI. While it will be months still until this airs but having a confirmed airing makes it fun now to get excited and ramp up the anticipation.

  1. I love GHJ. I like LMH in action. But the synopsis doesn’t look interesting. Last time when LMH paired with another big star in the Legend of Blue Sea, that drama was a bland failure. Two big stars don’t necessarily make it work. I hope the story of this one will be creative enough. I’m not excited about it by far.

  3. I guess they finally found a streaming partner that will agree to their terms. They wanted different domestic and foreign streaming platforms and no one was interested.

    • Sigh… They found out a streaming partner a long time ago. I said about tvN airing this drama in 2025 a lot of times on this site, but no one listening. Production company of this drama a Studio dragon. This is the biggest PC in Korea, it’s very doubtful they had struggles to find a streaming partner.
Drama Impossible heir didn’t have hallyu stars, writer and director with popular project, and yet had budget 20 million dollars and Disney as a streaming platform. When the star gossip has all of it, two famous actors, writer and director with popular projects, and people still thinking one the biggest production company couldn’t find a streaming platform for 2 years because of the budget.

  4. Did they ask for less money? Because they spent a lot of time to find a network for this drama.

I love GHJ and she always has a great chemistry with her costar. I’m not a fan of LMH but he’s not completely bad, just a little bland.

    • They likely sucked it up and agreed with the OTT partners’ terms and now there’s finally a green light to release official info and not crumbs from here and there. It’s about time. These stills were released a year ago.

      • Yea precisely. I’m thinking it’s Netflix but still nothing official. Prob in the days to come.

  5. Let’s hope the CGI is of the highest Hollywood level quality to justify that insanely long wait time. Overall I’m still worried that this drama has nothing more to offer other than a romcom set in space set up and 2024 has been the year of romcoms so let’s see how much the audience has an appetite for yet another one after the initial novelty of the space setting wears off. This will most likely be a follow up to the JJH and JYM romcom so it’ll be big shoes to fill. Still happy to see yet another warehouse drama see the light!

    • Same worries. Wonderland movie had similar troubles. Big budget, big stars, etc but it didn’t earn much in the cinemas. They filmed in 2020-2021 so the anticipation for the movie died down with a long release. Even if the CGI is still nice, it will always depend on how good the story is to hold these big elements together

  6. Probably the happiest person right now. When I saw the news, I started celebrating and thanking God, my sisters even had to ask me what had me so thankful 😂😂😂😂. I am so thankful. I loveee Lee min ho, Gong hyo jin is a terrific actress, I know I’ll love it. Pray God keeps us all😀

  7. All I can say is – I told you!
I said about tvN airing this drama a lot of times on this site with the links of proofs.
And I saw links about Netflix streaming this drama, but this is probably still not confirmed.
I like both actors, writer and director, and plot about astronaut romance seems original and interesting, so I’m very anticipating to this drama.

  8. This drama finally found a partner. That was such a struggle but they got there finally. Glad because I’m looking forward to it. GHJ is always so reliable and I can’t believe her last drama was pre-covid (??). Gosh it’s been forever. I’m excited for her long awaited return!

  9. Finally they got themselves partners! The OTT is still not announced so maybe they are ironing out details. It took a good 2 years from the announcement to get investors so I sure hope it has the production value fit for all the back and forth and post production. I’m looking forward to it! TBH I was prob a lot more excited when it was first announced, but better late than never. So many other dramas are still stuck in the abyss.

  10. Okay but what’s the streaming platform?? 😅

We mostly knew about tvN but what is the OTT? I thought the whole point was who was willing to get the streaming rights for whatever exorbitant price they are selling it for. Even if they decreased it and sold, who bought it?? Lol

    • LOL RIGHT. Thats what I’m confused about. Where is new ”news” on the article bcz I thought whole issue w/ ATS was no OTT was willing to pay & get streaming rights. If they were lacking both cable and OTT investor, no PD company risk the level of cost associated. The whole time I was w/ the impression tvN is unable to get an OTT to invest with them. Bcz if it was other way round Netflix or D+ has $ galore & this would be a non issue.

      • Lmh got one billion won per episode for apple show. Must be factoring big paycheck from streaming services as they don’t pay bonus. So must have sold at good price and tvn already must have broken even

  11. This will be GHJ’s first drama/film project in 6 years! That is a very long time.

I don’t enjoy either of these actors onscreen and the plot doesn’t sound appealing so I think I will be passing on watching this drama.

  12. Lmh was paid billion won per episode for apple show. No wonder tvn must have got big deal with Netflix as streaming sites don’t pay bonuses but big upfront salary. Good for all parties involved

  13. Nope. GJH is a hard watch. Very conscious when she’s acting. And LMH, after the horrible King drama, lost his spark. Add to the fact the kdrama is on severe decline with recycled stories, pronounced plastic surgeries of actors, and overall shallowness. Talents, which most of the actors possess, are overshadowed by the crazy, un realistic stuff.
