Jang Nara Tearfully Accepts the Daesang for Good Partner at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards
Awwwww, such a deserving recognition and a long time coming for K-actress Jang Nara. She’s been in the industry now into her third decade (23 years) and started from the cute plucky young heroines to now a wide plethora of roles and projects that show her continued acting evolution. This weekend SBS held its 2024 Drama Awards a week earlier than the usual last day of the year and all the stars of the more successful dramas attended. Jang Nara took home the Daesang Award for the legal drama Good Partner, and Park Shin Hye got a special Director’s Award for The Judge From Hell. The network gave out three sets of Top Excellence Awards split into different genres so Honey Lee, Kim Nam Gil, Jeon Mi Do, Ahn Bo Hyun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Kim Jae Young all got it. Of the big three networks SBS definitely had the most hits and I’m hopeful a good year will give momentum heading into 2025 to produce more dramas that resonate with and bring back viewers.
Is that last picture after Nam Ji Hyun supposed to be Kim Jae Young?…Because that’s not him.
It’s Sung Joon who acters as the villain in The Fiery Priest 2. He won the award for Excellent actor.
Awww Jang Nara’s so deserving of it and definitely a long time coming! With LHN poised to get Daesang for MBC, if ISH also gets it for KBS, we’ll have all actress Daesangs for the year which would be pretty cool.
On another note, Ji Sung was robbed here. I know the attendance rule but outside that, it’s silly for ABH to be picked over Ji Sung.

They’d have given him the award if he was there as they did the same with his costar. They’d have prob made up a random award to give to ABH too, as is the case with all Network Awards. For others like AAA, KDA etc, they usually invite the winners and those who go prob know they’re winning something.
This week 2 things made me happy . The first one was JNR’s Daesang .I was rooting for her, not because the others aren’t good actors but she is my 1st gen of korean actresses as an international viewer . The cutie from My love Patzzi became through more than 2 decades an humble , solid, hardworking and ageless actress. She may not have XXX followers but for me she is a big name . She deserved it . The second one was BABY V.O.X reunited for KBS festival , how can women in their forties still shine on stage . The five were awesome the live singing and visuals were no joke . PS: Ji Sung was great as always in Connection and even if i like ABH he and many others can’t overshine Ji Sung .
Jang nara deserved the daesang and it may have taken longer than it was supposed to be. It’s good that park shin hye also got the director’s award, she did a good job
Jang Nara and Park Shin-hye deserve the Daesang and the Director’s Award, although it seemed SBS felt the need to honor the latter because she grew up with the channel. I just find curious the choice to give a Top Excellence Award to Kim Nam-gil even though he already won the Daesang in 2019 for the same role. SBS never did the same for Han Suk-kyu’s Kim-sabu.
Yay for Jang Nara! She’s a great actress that always delivers. Agree with others that she totally deserves this.
So well-deserved! This was a long time coming. She should have received it for VIP but, funnily enough, she was up against Kim Nam Gil for The Fiery Priest that year too but they gave him the Daesang.
I always feel like Jang Nara really doesn’t get enough recognition for her talent or sustaining a successful career this long. I don’t think she’s ever had any scandals either. She just quietly does her job and minds her own business.
