C-netizens Note the Change in Body Language and Camaraderie From Dylan Wang to Tian Xi Wei From Before Airing of Guardians of the Dafeng to After Premiere — 19 Comments

  1. I don’t blame them though. The show barely showcases their romance anyways. Not everything has to be all lovey dovey. Sometimes it helps but really they should just promote camaraderie instead cause that was the drama show cases the most.

  2. It’s better to show a friendly and respectful behaviour than pretend that actors are incredibly close. It’s actually cringey when they “fry CP”. 😬 Ships are good for actresses but not for male actors. When it’s time for them to promote another drama, all the crazy shippers will slander them. Take Dylan. Believe it or not there are still a lot of shippers of him and his first partner from 6 years ago and, of course, a lot more with Ester. What’s the result? They always fight, but Dylan is the ultimate jerk. Where there were no shippers, he’s still very good friends with his partners. Irene Song, Qin Lan, Bai Lu. What I really like is how respectful he is towards his female colleagues.

    • “ships are good for actresses but not actors” seriously , I see more actresses getting the big share of hate from the the actor fans after their baes get connect with them , rarely it’s the opposite so IDK what are you even talking ab.

      • When a drama airs, I always see the actress fans cooing over how cute the couple is while actor fans only coo over their actor. Why do actress fans join in on the shipping but rarely actor fans? Because actresses depend on ships to attract female fans whereas actors attract fans directly through their visuals/personality/drama role.

      • Watch the barrage of other dramas. When the actor is in a new drama, the previous CP fans will cue the former FL/actress. This usually doesn’t happen when the actress is in a new drama. No one tells her to find the other guy. It’s really annoying when watching the new drama.

    • I reallly like how he is still warmhearted and easy going with his old partner Shen Yue & Qing Lan.Whenever there is a small moments between them behind the screen or variety shows I enjoy is to the fullest.

  3. Eh eh? I thought he traveled all the way to her birthday party once. That’s when the rumors really heated up. They would make a cute couple, though, at least aesthetically.

  4. This is so funny , did they really thought that their ship gonna be something when they barely had any scenes together, the drama is fine but there are so many unnecessary characters and Dylan’s take way too much of the plot just talking

  5. I’m more interested in the two dramas of Yang Zi and Bai Lu respectively that just premiered. GotD is a collection of forced slapstick that isn’t up my alley. The last time I can recall enjoying a comedy/crime mix is when watching the Fiery Priest I.

  6. People really shouldn’t be doing body language “analysis”. There’s no science, It’s just confirmation bias. Even if tian Xiwei and Dylan aren’t planning to be close after dafeng airs, that’s fine, it’s their business. TBH the intense shipping of real people that c-ent encourages (and that fans perpetuate) troubles me.

  7. @lilith I don’t where exactly you “see” things but you saw wrong, shippers are not the actor or the actress fans usually, they are mostly the DRAMA, both fans of actor or the actress are limited ,they are not the target audience of the shipping , when it’s romance center drama , production need the anticipate the shipping to guarantee a successful drama , the more chemistry between the leads in and out the drama the ppl are toned to watch and that benefits all the parties, the leads careers and production company, and for most fans as long as their artist being praised and getting the buzz they all will be happy and he will gain even more fans.

    • Lol sure, drama fans who follow one actress in particular and ship her with actor A, B, C and so on as her new dramas air. It’s a fact that ships benefit actresses more than actors, I don’t know why actress fans keep denying this when it’s nothing to be ashamed about. Different genders simply attract female fans with different ways. Actors attract directly by being the fan’s love interest whereas actresses attract by being the medium to fulfill the fan’s desire to be liked by different handsome men.

  8. If folks separated ‘reel’ from ‘real’, then we would have no problems. Just how depressing must life be for a person not to realize that actors are just acting? For heaven’s sake, that’s their JOB! As for body language and what not, you guys are giving the actors too much credit. They are very likely coached by their management on how to appear at these events. Rarely do they make these decisions on their own. After all, when all is said and done, it’s WORK after all, not their private event. For What It’s Worth, Tuan Xii Wei and Dylan Wang has always had the vibe of being good buddies, a sibling vibe, almost. I have always seen them as being good friends and colleagues. Nothing more or less.

  9. One would hope that fans realize that they are actors and what happens on screen rarely mimics life off screen, even though studios like to market that interaction for media purposes.
The sooner fans don’t go overboard with “Hollywood style” media hype, the sooner it stops.

  10. The bits I saw of Dylan at the Tencent event showed him pretty emotionless. I recall he had a long term girlfriend from before he was “famous” – are they still going out? He seems to have good relationships with his female co-stars in general if they’re up for a bit of fun.

What about the Ding Yuxi and Esther Yu interactions?

    • Rumored both recently broke up and he gave her a hefty parting fee gift for supporting him thru the last 6yrs of his career. It was quite a big news from many different entertainment media. He is not known to mess around with other females… just friends with them.

  11. Those poses on the red carpet sure looks like selling CP to me! Lol maybe the audience is just not buying what they’re selling. Not every pairing is a hit with audiences.
