Legend of the Condor Heroes: The Great Hero Directed by Tsui Hark Starring Xiao Zhan Becomes Fastest C-movie to Notch 10 million Presale Tickets — 16 Comments

  1. Huh? Why does the colour and make up look like it’s been done decades ago even though it was filmed last year?

Shouldn’t it look a bit more sleek and modern?

  2. Finally…I get to see more of Xiao Zhan this year…I really hope he will get good reviews for this movie… he must be anxious too as this is his first high profile movie. I look forward to seeing him back on small screen too.

  3. I AM SO THRILLED TO READ THIS. I hope both box office and reviews do well. XZ has been working really hard. He’s a known workaholic in the C-ent and he deserves all the success out of his hard work and talent.

I hope Netflix or some streaming site will acquire the streaming right to the movie. I have less interest in visiting a theater after COVID.

  4. As a book fan, the trailer at least did a good job filling in my imagination to visualize the wuxia world under Louis Cha’s pen. Director Tsui Hark seemed to take traditional approaches to the cinematography of Gong Jin’s era. Many Cha’s fans of older generations watched his movie/drama adaptions back to the heyday of HK wuxia. I watched several drama adaptations with my dad and read books myself. This trailer is very nostalgic to us knowing all or a bit of history of HK Wuxia. I hope the kind of unique artistry of Director Tsui also appeals to younger fans.

If the movie is a commercial hit, then it’s gonna be one huge step up for XZ’s career.

  5. lotch is a franchise that will never die. soooo many versions and still ppl want more. the promos do look good and it’s good timing to release during this season

  6. I really like Jin Yong works. Among them “Smiling proud wonder” and “Legend of condor heros” are my favorites. But Legend’s story is very long and more of tv series material. I wonder how it is going to be summerized for a movie.

    • The movie is only about a particular battle that was even barely mentioned in the book. This movie will be more about Director Tsui’s interpretation of Jin Yong’s Wuxia world than an adaptation of Jin Yong’s work.

  7. Tsui Hark is my favorite Chinese director of all time.Watch all of his movies and it never disappoints! Looking forward to this Movie! Hoping Netflix could get this ASAP!
