First Poster and Script Reading Stills for Next MBC Fri-Sat K-drama Undercover High School
So of course the two most famous undercover cop in high school onscreen stories has to be Fight Back to School which launched Stephen Chow‘s career and the 21 Jump Street US series. I mention this because those two are totally different tones and takes on the idea of a top cop going back to high school undercover and I’m not sure what direction the upcoming MBC drama Undercover High School will take, other than it just went with the entire concept in the title exactly as is lol just in case anyone was wondering. I’m excited since this will be male lead Seo Kang Joon‘s first drama since coming back from military service though he has been back for over a year and a half but these days it’s not always a plethora of dramas and movies thrown at stars anymore. His female lead is Jin Ki Joo who is always solid and hopefully the story is entertaining and their characters are likeable because these days too many dramas fail me by not delivering either and just running with one conceit thinking that’s enough.
Good to see SKJ back! I hope they go a darker tone because the lighter comedic tone feels a bit overdone. I do like the poster and his hair style. He looks really good!
Such good memories ,when i used to watch 21 jump street my bedroom was a no go zone for everyone ! Johnny Depp and NKOTB were the only ones who graced my desk . She’s on duty movie with Kim sun Ah and Gong Yoo was hilarious 20 years ago . I’m curious about this drama as i like both actors.
21 Jump Street was my favorite tv series along with Beverly Hills 90210 back in the days. Johnny Depp was the ultimate pin up guy in many high school girls’ bedroom walls and school files. Lol.
I saw the preview of Undercover HS during the 2024 MBC Drama Awards. I just love love love SKJ’s looks and energy. The tone is definitely more light than dark. It reminds me very much of another actor Seo’s High School King of Savvy. It may be another sleeper hit for a section of viewers whose mood have shifted to relatable love stories or old school style romcoms set in high schools. SKJ and JKJ looked good together when they walked out as co-presenters at the award show. Compared to Motel California preview, I definitely like this one more.
For a hot second there, I thought I was looking at Jing Boran. Heh. SKJ looks goooood.
