Jung Hae In and Ha Young in Talks for Romance K-drama This Sucky Love
It’s a sign that Netflix original K-drama Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is such a huge hit that the female lead in mere weeks is in talks for a high profile drama female lead role. Casting news says Jung Hae In and Ha Young are both in discussion for an upcoming romance or rom-com K-drama tentatively titled This Sucky Love (or This Crappy Love). He plays a boxer who is the number 2 of his group and she plays a detective with amnesia, and of course nothing sounds organic and it’s going to be all about the execution. The drama is from the PD and screenwriter of You Raise Me Up and will air on a streaming platform.
One the title is so corny and two the premise of said characters sounds melodramatic. Very odd but if both actors are good maybe when the time comes it will all make sense.
Is this really high-profile though? The production’s past credit is a Wavve web drama.
I thought it was Lee SunBin in the first pic and I would’ve loved that pairing. But anyway, the premise is so generic for now there’s really nothing to comment on. More so, I’ve never heard of You Raise Me Up… I can’t even tell if the screenwriter and PD are decent or if there’s anything promising here. And isn’t JHI doing a Japanese romance drama? I think he should steer clear and do a genre instead. DP is by far his best work.
As others have said the title and synopsis do not sound very appealing – nor does the director’s track record. Both actors are very popular currently and must be getting a lot of offers so there must be something impressive about this script. Maybe something is lost in translation?
Ha Young is stunning and has stood out in her previous roles so it’s nice to see her finally landing lead roles. This underrated long time supporting actress from buzzy Netflix drama pairing with top ML casting reminds me of Won Ji An’s recent casting with Park Seo Joon. It’s nice to see these actresses getting these opportunities.
A boxer number 2, detective with amnesia? It’s rather starnge pairing
You Raise Me Up was fantastic, so I will have hopes for this one!
The male lead is such an amazing actor. He is now one of my favourite actors
