Disney+ Picks Up K-drama Adaptation of Webtoon Remarried Empress with Shin Mina, Lee Jong Seok, Joo Ji Hoon, and Lee Se Young
So this is really happening and with this main foursome cast, I never could have fantasy cast this lol. K-ent is reporting that the K-drama adaptation of webtoon Remarried Empress will air on Disney+ and is slated to be a 10-episode drama. Please drop it all at once Disney+ rather than one episode or a few episodes a week, pretty please. The leads will be Shin Mina as the titular Empress Navier betrayed by her first love and Emperor husband, Lee Jong Seok as Emperor Heinrey of another kingdom who marries the divorced Navier, Joo Ji Hoon as Emperor Sovieshu the nice guy turned giant douchenozzle cheater, and Lee Se Young as Rashta the world’s biggest fake scheming beeyotch. The webtoon isn’t all that great TBH but is easy to read and also elicits strong feelings positive for the leads to get their happy ending and stabbibity stab stab hate for the second leads to go fall into a ditch full of spikes. I like the 10-episode short length and reportedly the drama will be changed in setting from the fantasy Euro royalty background so I’m guessing pick a Korean kingdom era and plop these four in there.

Has the cast really been confirmed to be true and final already?
If it’s Korean kingdoms, then it probably will be the Samhan period.
Ju Ji Hoon on a roll.
10 episodes for such a long webtoon? Like I get it can’t be 50 episodes but 10!?
Wish it could have been on Netflix instead. What a great cast!
Not sure how to feel about this casting news. LJS used to have some interesting dramas long ago in my memory but I haven’t been indifferent to him for so long. I watched only one drama of each of the 2nd couple. I’ve never been a fan of them although I’ve heard about very positive opinions about their acting in other dramas. As to SMA, she’s always got leading roles but I honestly don’t get her appeal. Some of her dramas are watchable, and I finished them bcos of either the solid plots or MLs’ charm LOL. I wonder why she kinda tended to pick roles somehow quirky and not very likeable. Was it because of the characters themselves or thanks to her acting? Just not my cup of tea. Hometown Cha Cha Cha is the one that I’m currently watching and No Gain No Love another example of how I thought about her. But those dramas are still watchable because of the stories not too boring LOL.
Lee Se-young is now a Disney princess!
